Blood clots

Wanted to get anyone’s advice/experience with blood clots for someone who uses PEDs

I have had a small blood clot (DVT) which idek if came from PED usage as nothing in my bloods really popped up as crazy out of range. I’ve researched and people with prior blood clot are more likely to get another one.

I know this may sound stupid but hopefully without judgement you could advise how dangerous is it to continue PED cycles if I manage risk as much as possible? Taking all health supplements and taking Apixaban (Eliqius) and an ACE inhibitor for BP, both prescribed by doctor. Some have told me this is not risk free but rather ‘managed risk’.

Also bloodwork every 8 weeks to monitor everything.

Surely some bodybuilders who run grams of gear must run into problems like these and carry on? any help appreciated

Do you know the cause of your previous DVT? eg. meds/drugs, inherited thrombophilia, trauma?

In the end, it’s a question of your own risk tolerance. You already seem to be predisposed to thrombus formation, and AAS usage increases risk via both increased hematocrit and increased thrombotic factor production. Is your apixaban enough? No idea. Will you have another DVT on AAS? No telling. Are you at an increased risk? Yes.

I would maybe try consulting with an internist or hematologist. They might recommend adding an antiplatelet alongside your NOAC.

They don’t really know for sure what caused it. My bloods weren’t out of line, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t the AAS. Apparently they can still cause coagulating effects that don’t show up in regular markers so FBC could still appear normal etc. I’ve also used accutane for a period of time but a few years ago. And also the covid jabs was mentioned in the hospital a few times. But I guess we will never know with that.

Also with the antiplatelet. They don’t recommend this when I’m already anticoagulated with apixaban, as it increases bleeding risk too much running them both for not much extra benefit.

Looks like I may just have to do very low doses and keep bloodworks regular and try to be as safe as possible and see where it goes.
