Blood Work

I will admit in the past I was young and dumb and ignored blood work.
Going back on the sauce soon. When I go get blood work what should I ask my doctor. Are there certain things that should be assessed? Obviously test levels and liver lipids. Other than that I’m unsure.
Any feedback would be great.

Get every test he’ll do, but since it’s through insurance it most likely won’t have sensitive assays or as in depth as some of us would like to get. So we usually do self order bloods in addition to what our provider will order. Here’s some labs you may be interested in checking

CBC
CMP
Vit D
lipids (I like with ratio) other lipid you should check is APOB, LP(a) only needs to be done once in a life time*
Iron and TIBC- if you donate a lot like some of us do
Testosterone with LC/MS, free test, shbg,PSA
Sensitive Estrodial
IGF-1 so you can feel cool
A1C, insulin, cortisol, prolactin
HSCRP
Thyroid panel is always good, with free t3,t3 uptake, reverse t3

I’m a big dummy so I’m sure guys on here pull different labs or can add onto mine with something more specific or practical, but I think this is a good start. Hope this helps.
