Bonds haters!! Listen up

I would like to see this as well as see the stats on how many more homers he would have hit if he wasnt an all star pitcher as well.
P.s. I loved watching Minnesota pisspound(being sarcastic) oregon.

No he didnt play all of his games in NY, but he hit the majority of his dingers in NY. They of course didnt raise the wall...they lowered it when he got there though...Left handed hitter, right field swing away. I will see if i can find the story for you along with a breakdown of hr's per season in Beantown and NY.

Thats right El, the Ducks are coming....

Funny. Than why do you guys say he is the best hitter of all time LMFAO. You cant compare generations like I stated earlier, if you read my post. Kinda seems you are being hypocritical or are calling yourself a moron :D
The game has changed, so for all the morons(not you quasi) who try to compare the current guys with the old timers---It doesnt work--

Hey damnit...Everyone loses sometimes Thick, last yr was supposed to be a down yr for us. These next 2 yrs will be way up yrs...You'll see...plus a 2 point game is hardly a pounding... :D

Who is your NCAA team anyway ?

I would rather see ariz, asu, or oregon than any california team for sure. My team is the Iowa Hawkeyes. I imagine most of the nation loved how they beat the living shit out of the cocky Florida gators. After the game, the Iowa players said how nobody all season talked as much shit as the Gators. Even when they were getting blown out they were still talking shit. It was a sweet victory. When I am not watching Iowa, I will watch Michigan and Notre Dame.

1) The Babe came in hungover and fat.
2) No supplements were available back then.
3) Certianly no steroids were available back then (bonds.....)
4) Players got paid by the game in many cases and not the multi-millions these greedy assholes get paid today.

After the strike I quit watching most pro sports, owners and players nuthin' but rich assholes. Not all of them though, I must say in all fareness.

like i said bonds stats are above average. However if baseball had a draft with everyone available, Pujols is the 1st player drafted.

Take into account that most sane managers and pitchers wont give this guy a ball to hit in most circumstances. Pujols is good, Bonds is way more feared as a hitter. You know that KTCK, c'mon.

Look at his division opponents...Colorado, 'Zona, Padres....granted he faces Unit and previously Schilling but he plays in a weak division with morons for starting pitchers. Other than Unit & Schilling over the last 4 years or so..who the heck is pitching to him, friggin dudes that are lucky to get past Mickey Mantle organized baseball...stiffs. Nick E Guns..bro you could hit 20+ HR against pitchers from Colorado, Arizona and the Padres. Plus you get to hit at Coors Field and at Arizona..2 of the best hitters parks in the majors.
I will give him credit..the numbers are crazy but Pujols or Arod are what is good about baseball. Arod had his moments this winter but he represents the league is a positive way and so doesn't Pujols. I forget who said Pujols and Arod are or were on the "shit"...your crazy. Neither of them look like they take the shit nor need it. I'll eat my words 2 years from now if Pujols or Arod puts on 40+lbs of muscle like Bonds did. Fuckin goof with the gay cross earing

:p So true--

As for thick saying I am calling myself a moron---I dont compare Bonds to the old-timers, but some people have stated he is/is not as good as them--

When I say Bonds is the best-ever hitter, I mean Bonds is the best hitter of this current MLB--- I dont know exactly when the cut-off of the "current" league is but I would say around the 60's or 70's -- I didnt see Ruth, Maris, Mantle play so I cant justify saying they are the best---I have however seen Bonds play his whole career and all the guys around him that have fallen off way before age 40--- There a very few hitters that are able to play MLB at that age--Franco, Larkin, etc, but very few like I said---

It is just impossible to say how Ruth would do today or how Bonds would do back then-- But I imagine Bonds would do better then, than Ruth would do now--

Could the Babe pitch too, HELL YEAH. Bonds -- don't think so. Babe Ruth is the All-round greatest player ever. Bonds will soon be the 1 hitter of all time.

You're right Spectre...Barry can't pitch as well as Babe Ruth so he obviously isn't that great of a player. I don't know what we were thinking with all those silly records of his...

In ten or fifteen years Pujols or Arod MIGHT turn out to be in a similar category and they will MAYBE come close to the accuracy and discipline Barry has at the plate (hmmm what's Arod's numbers looking like lately?), but that is a long way off, so for now....

BARRY IS GOD!!!!!!!!!!!

He probably should lose the earring though.

OK -According to the baseball almanac, Babe Ruth never hit more than 29 HRs in a season while he was in Boston. All the sudden, he is sold to NY in 1920 and first yr hits 54. ( remember in Yankee stadium the right field fence was lowered to accomodate Ruth and what today is a ground rule dbl was then a HR. ) This became such a problem in Major League baseball that after other managers and fans complaining about the HR rule, baseball implemented the ground rule double in 1932 .
I saw an interview when ESPN does that guest for an inning with the old farts who used to call games ( this guy called yankee games too ) said although Ruth was good his statistics are very padded today because of the left field bounce rule.
Bond is an amazing player in the modern era. he is the most feared hitter of all time and has hit these dingers in a fraction of the A/B's that Ruth or Aaron ever had.
Satchell Paige, according to Ted Williams, is the best pitcher to ever live.

I'll keep looking for more links to this story.

OK so this is where you are WAY OFF. Babe quit pitching when he got to the yankees. He only started 4 games from 1920 to 1933 with the Yankees and only pitched in 5 total games. Also, he almost tripled his homeruns from 1918 to 1919 showing that he was coming into his own before he went to the Yankees. Nobody has addressed the hacky sack of a ball they used either.

Silverback, when u first said that he was the best hitter of all time u never said of this generation so that is why i made that comment lol. Personally, tony gwynn was about the best hitter of this generation if u span a career and not the last 4 years of padded numbers. I doubt if tony juiced but he sure could hit the damn ball.

Ok finding some more for ya. BABE hit only 224 of his 714 Homeruns in Yankee stadium. There goes the fence bullshit. Ruth hit 75 homeruns at the polo grounds from 1920-1922. Another source says he hit 259 Homers in yankee stadium. Yankee stadium didnt open til 23. So he it 347 homers in his home parks of Boston, yankee, and polo grounds. He hit 55 for boston. So less than 300 of his 714 homeruns were at home. This just makes me laugh my ass off. So what is the next excuse for why he out hit other teams combined? Also, what park had the fence moved in? Yankee stadium or polo grounds?

Nice job Thick. As the Meso Sports expert, I am ruling in your favor. Babe is better then Bonds. By the time it is said and done, so will Pujols and A-Fraud too.

Ok here is another thing that you are totally full of shit on. Check out these career at bats. Babe ruth has 8399 career at bats

Barry bonds has 8725 career at bats at the time of 658 homeruns. I guess that kinda dismisses that bold statement. Bonds has 325 more at bats than ruth with 56 less dingers. With Babes' homer every 8.5 at bats, he would have another 40(rounded number) homers. That would put him edit:100(i put 10 instead of 100) homeruns over bonds with the same number of at bats. That isn't even a comparison. Hank aaron had almost 4000 more at bats to barely beat the babe.

Bond is an amazing player in the modern era. he is the most feared hitter of all time and has hit these dingers in a fraction of the A/B's that Ruth or Aaron ever had.

yankee stadium.

OK, so i admit defeat. Bonds is awesome, Ruth was great in his time. I provided links so you could see where i got my info from. This plus that interview with the dude who was the guest announcer rom ESPN game night. I will keep looking for more information since i opened my mouth about it already, so i rescind my declaration of defeat, although temporarly since i hate baseball anyway. Football is my game, thats why i am Meso's Football expert .

Go ducks !

well he hit the 59 homers in polo grounds. So now what is your argument? Remember you made a big deal about him hitting 29 in boston and than 54 the next year as a yankee b/c of the fence. Well he didnt play in yankee stadium :D and he didnt pitch :D

p.s. Here is some more info

Only eight times in MLB history has a player topped 60 home runs. Six of the eight 60+ seasons have come in the last five years. Why do you think today's players are hitting more home runs than those of previous generations? Here are the main reasons:

Weight training makes today's players stronger.
The pitcher's mound is lower. (A higher mound makes pitches harder to hit because the ball flies in at a more difficult angle.)
Ballparks are smaller. It's easier to hit the baseball into the stands.
A smaller strike zone lets batters be more selective, and it also means that strikes are easier to hit.
Today's baseballs are made differently, so they are "livelier" and pop off the bat more powerfully than those of Babe Ruth's day.

Thick, are you smoking weed?? Ruth played in Yankee Stadium with the 4 foot high wall. A ton of his homers were not homers at all. Thay were actually doubles, and very rarely, a triple. Ruth's stats are padded by that. Think of how many doubles Bonds has hit that, if he were playing with the same conditions as Ruth, would be homers. If Bonds had played in that same Yankee Stdium he would have over 800 homers right now. Thick, that weed is very bad for you.

I am going to add more to this. Do you guys watch much baseball? I watch it all the time. Until this year(no cable) i used to watch at least 4 games per week. Sometimes 6 games. The strike zone now is absolutely pathetic. Wonder why the braves lose in the post season? It is b/c of the strike zone. The braves pitchers, glavine and maddux primarily, rely on an umpire who calls the corners. The post season has the best umps and they call the small strike zone. Maddux and glavine and now hampton and co. dont have the stuff to win unless they get the corners called.

Bonds can sit and wait for the fat one b/c the knees and belly are balls. Corners dont exist. Belt high is the only strike.
Also, the body gear used. Bonds looks like a fucking hockey player up there with his pussy padding. He can crowd the plate. Inside corner doesnt get called. If u hit him he gets on base and doesnt get hurt. If babe or the old guys crowded the plate, than they would get beaned in the head and possibly have their careers ended. Pitchers should take him and anyone else who wears body gear and crowds the plate out of commision
