Two men from Iowa are among three people will serve time in prison after pleading guilty to distributing steroids across the country.

A U.S. District Court judge sentenced 31-year-old Jefferey Lackas of Bettendorf to 46 months in prison, 39-year-old Stanley Szeto of Iowa City to 25 months along with a $6,000 fine, and 30-year-old Daniel Cruz-Bonilla of Fontana, California was sentenced to 41 months.

Court records show that between July of 2011 and March of 2015 the men were members of a drug trafficking operation that went by the name “Brinkkman Pharma” on the internet. It says they distributed steroids and human growth hormones obtained from a source in China.

Szeto is a bodybuilder who ran 319 Elite Fitness in Coralville. Police seized steroids and cash after raiding his Iowa City home in March.

Feds: Iowa City gym owner was part of large-scale steroid network

IOWA CITY — An Iowa City gym manager has been implicated in a five-year conspiracy to distribute anabolic steroids.

Investigators said in court documents filed Wednesday that 39-year-old Stanley Szeto was a co-conspirator in a “large-scale nationwide distribution” network.

The bodybuilder was arrested in August.

Officers executed warrants at his Iowa City home and gym, 319 Elite Fitness in Coralville, seizing dozens of vials and tablets of suspected steroids and packaging materials.

The government’s seeking an order to keep $2,680 in seized cash.

A DEA agent said there’s evidence that Szeto bought steroids from a supplier in China and filled orders for 200 customers. Szeto’s expected to plead guilty to a federal charge next week.

Separately, he’s awaiting trial on an assault charge after he allegedly fractured the skull of a patron at Union Bar in Iowa City, where he was working as a bouncer. Szeto claims self-defense.

Beating a patron?
Then Feds got a tip off?
Coincidental?
