Brutus79 And Johnnyballz Cycle Log

Hahaha!! I looked and the pics start at post # 330.

Amazing transformation in such a short time. In the 150 lbs pic, you can see everything was all there - the basic shape - and just needed a training stimulus to blow up - and blow up it did. Great job!

One word of advice, though. When you're looking at your new muscles in the mirror, try not to get a hard-on before taking the pic, huh? Fuck! :eek:o_O:oops:

The 150lbs pic was from a few years before when I was still a pill popping animal, that's why I was so skinny.. I really started about 165lbs..

Man, if I was still growing at the rate I grew last year I'd be 300lbs!! It's gotten a lot harder...

You guys are a real fucking inspiration!!!
The transformation that has taken place gives me and others hope because we know how hard it is to overcome our addictions.

Keep up the epic log fellas!!!

Training for strength is a young mans game, IMO. At least it was for me. I know there are lots of old PLers still going strong, but for me, getting older meant greater and more constant pain, as well as more frequent injuries. I reached the point where is wasn't worth it anymore.

Nowadays, it's all about high reps, and... dare I say it... training for the pump.

Bottom line? Train for your goals but keep health the top priority. That's the only way to ensure you have a long, and successful, training career.

CBS is right. Powerlifting is extremely difficult to recover from as you get older and definitely isn't the smartest way to train.

So, other than not being particularly smart, why am I powerlifting at 48. The short answer is I trained more in BB fashion for nearly 30 years and needed something to keep me motivated. I found powerlifting about five years ago and because I had strong base but didn't have the years of wear and tear from competitive powerlifting that most guys over 40 who competed did within 18 months I was able to get into the national rankings in the masters (over 40) class. For a former athlete once you get the taste of competition again your hooked, even if it isn't the smartest way to go.

I had a full distal bicep tendon tear which required surgery and set me back for a while but motivated me even more to get back into lifting and competing. My long term goal now is to bench over 400 and pull 600 at a bodyweight of under 200 after the age of 50. What will I get for that- a couple of small trophies and a lot of aches and pains but a huge feeling of accomplishment.

We lift for a variety of reasons but they all basically revolve around ourselves and our vanity. So whatever form or lifting motivates you I say go with it, if others don't understand it I say who cares it isn't about them anyway.

There was a lot of rambling going on in this post but hopefully you guys get the point.

Great work Brutus and JB.

yeah JB nothing short of an amazing transformation .. I thought for you sure you started out with tree trunks.. You got dem genes boy..
Makes me hopeful since i started natty around 169.. stalling out around 205.. but all in due time.. did you go through phases where to bulk it meant adding belly fat.. ? whats your route on this? bulk , cut , bulk cut, or clean bulk through? what served you best..

anyways congrats them arms are nutty

Back day... training at home in the dungeon- jb's brother came through and he kept up natty... BEASTLY!
Bent bb rows
4 sets 12
close grip pull downs
4 sets 12
Lat swing downs
4 sets 12
Arnolds (wtf they r called? I always just think of him in pumping iron)
7 sets 12
Slower reps but very brisk pace with no waiting except for other person to go. Felt good.

I feel the tren turning up my body temp... just running a few degrees hotter... found myself fantasizing about beating a guy to death with a 45lb plate for doing calf raises in the leg press machine I was waiting for, so tren also seems to be starting to finger fuck my dopamine receptors a bit.

Haha I have those fantasies all too often. They end with me yelling , ''' YOU SEE WHAT YOU MADE ME DO?""

are arnolds those twisting supination raises?

When you have the barbell between your legs with plates on one end and use the close grip attachment to pull the end up to your chest. Someone already told me but I can never remember.

oh those olympic barbell rows.. yeah not sure there name. when i think of arnolds, i swore its a supination movement with a shoulder raise idk..
