You dont wanna degrade the oil. Hold the oil at 212 for 15, it will kill all microbial contaminantsIt cant really hurt to do it I agree....I think it should be a higher temp though right? Possibly longer duration too?

Before you accept this advice i would do some research for yourself. Even in autoclaves they use a higher temperature than 212 degrees, and they have the benefits of steam and pressure. If your willing to risk it, thats your call, but at least google dry heat sterilization of parenteral oil.You dont wanna degrade the oil. Please be kind and share with everyone the research you've done. Because I would like to see these studies myselfBefore you accept this advice i would do some research for yourself. Please next time skip all the bs and just use whatman polycaps. Vacuum filter into a sterile sealed media bottle and you do NOTHING else. The filters with the filter disc is not really preferred. Vacucaps I believe they are called are also decent. I have done alot with those with NO problem. Then the millipore nalgene type thing are okay. But a media bottle with vacuum barbed nipples and sterile oven baked materials. Run The setup with filter and tubing with some pure grain alcohol through it enough to soak the tubing and filter. Then leave it running for 15 min, all alcohol is dissolved. Now filter oil. Final product is contained in a sterile sealed environment. Put your sterile bottle top dispenser on top and pump away.
100°C is enough to kill 99% of all microbial contaminants. Are you forgetting he is also filtering with a .22 filter? Which pretty much sterilizes the solution......the dry heat was just an extra precaution because he is using a buchner setup
100°c is the point that water boils. The point of which water boils also kills 99% of all microbes, the ones it doesnt kill are very rare and are in remote location were heat is something the organism is accustomed too. In which case the .22 filter would take care that.
And what's your point!! OP is asking about filtering with a buchner setup. Oh let me guess you wanna measure dicks huh!! Lmao if you wanna see my dick all you gotta do is ask brotha. This can go down in DM [emoji108]So you ask for a study i rpovide it, and you disregard it. Then you say 100°C is enough. The most common tools to sterilize things are autoclaves, and dry heat sterilizer both use temeratures higher than 100°C.
Again this man is right. Like I said before brother it's nice to have someone around that knows his shit. @jstarks11 I was starting to think this whole process was rocket science.lol. I just think alot of people don't answer questions for new brewers or with each other like we use to years ago....Please next time skip all the bs and just use whatman polycaps. @stinkfinger also I know pre wetting the filter with BA is not going to properly sterilize it, but it does help and it's better than nothing. Also by pre wetting the filter and adding vacuum pressure before adding the oil to the funnel will seal the filter to the base of the bunchner funnel. Therefore also preventing any unfiltered oil from running under the filter and into the filtering flask. That a long with the sterilization process we went over you won't have any problems with bacteria. You won't have any problems with brewing and recipes if you use the hotline I gave you.. You got this brother...After talking with @Cakedup this setup is ok. My main concern was if I needed to sterilize the filters them selves. ....I don’t. No bacteria can pass through .22 micron filter. I will just be extra careful and make sure the filter does not touch anything and goes straight into the Büchner funnel.

I'm going to shoot you a message like bro..Gotcha big bro! Yeah we talked about how to seal the filter just never touched on if I needed to sterilize the paper but the consensus is that it’s not necessary.
