Bush-Kerry debate

I just think that we should respect what other mods say for the public good. When one mod like owlman undermines what Phreezer or another mod suggests for the public good, I have a problem with that.

ok....I respect the mods and I agree flaming was getting out of control on the political threads. I saw not one flame in this thread! So, if you dont like to read political opinions, do NOT read the thread. It just so happens that it is election time and this subject is on people's minds. Dont tell people their opinions are irrelevent because if they were, people wouldnt be conversing about the subject. there is no rule against starting political threads, just a rule against the flaming.

Southernjuice making a hell of a point some of the reasons to vote for W. SJ, you are vindicated from the Favre comments and are now respectable again in the Meso's Sports expert's mind.

I vote for Kerry for several reasons. Here are some of them:

I believe gay marriages should be legal.
I believe partial birth abortion should be legal.
I believe in stem cell research of all kinds.

I don't like Pres. Bush's ways on International Relations.
I don't think Pres. Bush has handled Iraq as well as it could have.

There are others but those are just a few.

Mr. redneck,

I know most of you rednecks are illiterate so I understand your confusion. I am over 18, and have been for a decade (that's 10 years for those of you from South Carolina)

Now there is no need to curse mister. If you continue to do so then I will have to tell your mom about your profanity, and as punishment you will no longer be allowed to sleep with your sister.

Have a nice day

I agree with ya Airbourne. I always thought the General Section was for General discussion. There are threads I don't open becuase the topic doesn't interest me. We can be more than the "Meatheads" people seem to think many of us are.

I do agree with Pheezer that the flaming was getting out of hand, although he flamed me on a political thread just last week.

Discussion is part of the political process and is what makes the process so good in this country. Many countries don't have that right. Whether I agree with your opinion or not I always try to remain respectful. As long as you can back up what your saying with some common sense, I have no problem with who you vote for.

I agree with instock, how can you trust a prick like kerry, This cock sucker changes his mind way to often, and you cant lead a country like that, he is not sure what he beleives in, I think he is relying on what everyone else beleives in.
Rambo has it exactly. Look at Kerry's Senate record. He is the most liberal Senator, more so than Ted "Let Her Drown to Save My Ass" Kennedy. Kerry's voting record in the Senate is completely different from the stance he is now taking on issues. His current positions are different than the positions he took when Dean appeared to be running away with the Dem nomination.

You guys supporting Kerry don't really know what you are supporting, because Kerry's positions on issues will continue to change to serve his personal interest.

Once again Frosty, you twist people's words to fit your arguements. I never said anyone gave me the authority to destroy life or that I could do a better job in the war with Iraqi.

I just stated what I believe in, I'm entitled to my opinion as you are entitled to yours. You always like to pick apart people's opinion for your own preaching.

Frosty said:
This argument has been beaten to death already. If you change the definition to allow same sex marriages, you open the door to group marriage. It is fact. The gay lobbyists just want to shove what they believe down the nation's throat. Why do I say that? They complain about how civil union laws are not ideal, so what do they do? Lobby to have the civil union laws improved? Nope! They want to change the legal definition of marriage. They don't just want happy relationships...they want to force it down our throats. If this were not the case, they would be pushing for better civil union laws, which is what they SHOULD be doing.

Not even sure where to begin with this. It's a terrible practice.

France, Germany, and Russia were against us because they were getting oil deals from Saddam (wow, talk about no war for oil!). Spain elected a socialist pacifict and pulled out troops. You can't please everyone, especially when there is bigtime corruption going on (see oil for food, Germany, France, Russia, the UN, etc).

Oops! I have better things to do....time for strongman training. And my shoulder have just healed up from last week's encounter with the tire! Gonna be torn up again lol.

I'm with you on all these issues except the stem cell research. I'm in medicine, this technology could save millions of lives. Seriously. As long as you are allowing women to have abortions at least use the stem cells and don't throw them out. This way at least something good comes out of abortions.

Why not just use stems cells from other sources, such as umbilical cords?

Also, one thing people seem to miss is that there is not a ban on stem cell research. There is just no federal funding for it outside of those 70-something lines. That doesnt mean a company/university privately fund research.

science has ways to save lives already without stem cells.....they dont use it for the simple fact of population control.if they cured cancer, aids, ect....the worlds population would be uncontrolable....sad but true...

science isnt GOD and shouldnt be acting like it.there are some things that should be left alone....jmo...

I agree, but at present stem cells are not as easily obtained from umbilical cords or adults, that may change in the future though. Know anyone who has Diabetes, Parkinsons, and a host of other diseases. I know people who have both. Both potentially curable with this research. These are diseases where people suffer for many many yrs, not just die. To delay a possible cure by even a day when we are throwing these cells away during abortions is just spiting in these peoples faces who have these diseases. If you had one of the potentially curable diseases your stance would change on this drastically. You are not putting yourself in the diseased persons shoes. Federal funding is nearly a necessity to get anything done. Imagine cancer research with out it. There wouldn't be cancer research. LOL

debate

kerry voted to give the president power to go to war..fact
Kerry did not vote for the way bush has fucked up Iraq.
bush said the santictions were not working, kerry said last night they must have worked as there were no WMD found. On dateline the other nite they had iraq citzens on that said they would not be caught dead being seen with our troops as there is no peace in iraq..they said we we came in they were overjoyed..but we are not doing the job on the ground. I wish this election would be on shit here instead of Iraq, like taxes..giving the rich a tax break does not work..that was regan's trickle down economics. Rich people don't spend money..a good read is the millionare next door.

"Democraits win when people think"..bill clintion
I was watching a show and a european politican said if you want to find out if a male in the US is a republican as him how often he goes to church..if he goes often there is a great chance he is a republican.
Relegion=fear=100% How republicans/bush run there campaign
we are all safe with bush that is is big messege

Again you twist my words around. I didn't say Kerry could do a better job, I said I didn't think Bush handled it as well as he could have.

As for partial live abortion I think there is some circumstances that warrants it. I also think women should have the right to choose and I don't like Bush's stance on it. I like Kerry's quote during the debate "If a girl was raped by her father and becomes pregnant, then she has to go to her father and ask approval for an abortion." To me that is insane.

Frosty said:
You believe in electing people that will legalize partial birth abortions...it's destroying life. Period.

So if you don't think you know what could have been done better in Iraq, then how can you say that Kerry would do a better job?

That statement by kerry was just assinine.

First of all, she should first go to the police. If she still wanted to have an abortion she could ask her Mother.

You can't just through out idiotic ideas without thinking them through which has been the only consistant thing about kerry and his poorly run campaign.

now thats some funny shit lol. imo bush has fucked up alot of shit since he's been in. he didnt even attend the naacp invite. thats just showing a little respect if would of showed up. yes im black and proud. bush can give a shit about minorities, homosexuals or any american making less than 200k a year.
on the other hand i think kerry is full of shit also. lose lose situation. if youre not rich or almost rich, i dont see why bush would get your vote. Bush has power and alot of money. i dont see him losing the election. look at the bullshit at the last election.

It's a sick, twisted world. I'm sure things like this happen.

They do use the umbilical cords and I believe the placentas. Or atleast I know that there was a gal came around after my first son was born that wanted these articles.

Just for the record I vote republican. But I don't always side with right sided or extreme right issues.
I think stem cell research is a good thing. However I wouldn't want to see an aborted baby used for such.
I think that the current law regarding abortions is adequate.
I think that there should be some backstop ie. limited welfare for people for who have lost jobs and are desparate.
Then again
I think that we should definately fight terrorism and terrorist sponsering states. They say that Iraq posed no threat to USA. They found a disk that had the recorded information of all of the security procedures for every school I believe in the Los Angeles School District. After what happened in Russia the world doesn't believe THAT could be construed as a threat, and doesn't show a link to terrorism???
Saddam Husseins son raped and tortured women in his private chamber. Saddam had a passion for feeding enemies into tree trimmers... Maybe it wasn't done too slowly.
These fucking people are cutting off the heads of innocent hostages and murdering countless people around the world indisciminately every day.

And I certainly don't think that John Kerry is the man to lead a nation to victory. Infact I don't even think he can lead his wife.
Anyway, politics according to Token :D

Yes, how many girls do you really believe that would go to an abortion clinic go because there father raped them?

Sure it happens.. But I think that would be the exception and not the rule. And if this was the case then she should have contacted the police and not have waited until a partial birth abortion had to be made.

Right now abortion is legal in most cases. But if you've ever seen a premature child then you know that it is still a child.
