Calories timing

Hello all,

I find myself eating most of my calories at the end of the day when the workout is done and close to bedtime. I am very nocturnal, I usually don´t fall asleep until 4 AM and get up really late. First thing in the "morning" I do is about a 1000 calories breakfast, then workout and relaxation until I do two more big meals very close to each other with its consequent huge calories intake (plus a shaker post workout). I am about 3000-3500 calories daily.

This is working for me, I am definitely seeing results but my question is; do you think I would see an improvement/optimization if I reverse the order of this in terms of leaner gains, better metabolization, etc? I mean putting all the calories in the beginning of the day and progressively going down until bed.

If it's working for you, I wouldn't be concerned. As long as overall calories are in a surplus or a deficit, depending on whether you're respectively bulking or cutting, you should be on track.

Calorie balance is the most important part of a diet. Followed by macro ratios and nutrient timing.

I am unclear as to how long of a gap you're incurring between meals, exactly. However, my impression is that the best optimization could be to include a shake between your first meal and your second... It sounds like it may be a kind of lengthy gap there. This will help you get a more steady flow of amino acids and not rely on two big meals at the end of the day to hit the macro goals. Necessary? Not really. More optimized? Probably.

Aside from diet, make sure you're getting plenty of sleep. 4am bedtime sounds horrible to me but as long as you are getting good sleep it shouldn't matter.
