Yes, absolutely. But without hair follicles, there is less room for pores to get clogged. Hear me out.
- Hairs grow through pores.
- A collection of sebum and dead skin cause a clogged pore.
- Hairs and hair follicles take up space within the pores, making it easier for oil to become trapped.
- Trapped oil causes mild inflammation due to bacterial build up.
- Mild inflammation develops into an infection, causing a rupture of the follicular canal, which is your standard pimple.
It seems like removing hairs would significantly reduce BOTH the folliculitis and acne problems. While the root cause of each is somewhat different, they both affect the same part of the pore.
Now, obviously you need to follow proper care afterwards or you’ll develop acne anyway since the pores are likely to become inflamed. But from a cursory Google search, it seems it really does help a lot if it’s done right, just that it needs multiple sessions.
What I’m wondering is if anyone here has done this successfully…
