Maintain your freedom to what? Not wear a mask in public places? Look at the numbers of countries where they let it run wild instead of clamping down, it's a necessary albeit frustrating and annoying year to stem the flow of cases until a vaccine is developed.I'm pretty sure they would for whining about putting a cotton mask over your mouth to do some shopping because it may be uncomfortable.
Even the most idiotic states are now putting mask policies up obviously way, way too late after they saw what happens when you don't actually listen to science based advice.
If its the ability to freely travel around the world wherever you want, I get it but I also see why you would close borders with something like this. It becomes much harder to contract trace or nigh impossible allowing people to be entering/exiting the country constantly especially from areas that may be hotbeds. Once your country is under control the last thing you want to do is re-introduce a bunch of variables to have it explode again. Or you end up like the US where the shutdown was pretty much all for nothing.
To me it's common sense, but feel free to crush me. I've seen and agree with pretty much all your posts in this section so I'm not being snarky. From a science based perspective I just don't see the issue/option here.
If thinking masks being mandatory is some fight against your freedoms then I'm not sure what to say, if it's because of wanting to travel then yes it sucks but I'm not seeing how I'm being illogical here besides the possibly grandiose example of the WW2 era sacking up to do their part when they had to for a lot tougher situations.

That's the problem.
Its NOT about masks
Your freedom is being pulled out from under you and you're talking about masks.
We are fed information
A narrative.
That Narrative Is bought and paid for by the Liberal government (Your tax dollats) given to media outlets that agree with their perspective.
They have said "Masks are crucial, anyone who doesnt wear a mask is the enemy"
Mask
Mask
Mask
Meanwhile
The government now has the power to...
-Confine you at home whenever they want
-Charge you or imprison you if you leave.
-Track and use your mobile and personal information as they wish
-Forcibly take your guns and ammunitions
-Dictate the chemicals you put in your body
-Tell you where and when you're allowed to work
-Police can stop and charge/Fine without cause... just for being outside.
-Control over individual industries and sectors of the economy
-The push for income equality is coming... believe me.. it's coming.
Yet here we are talking about masks
I DO wear a mask.
I work in 4 hospitals in Toronto
But our freedoms have become significantly smaller, and we are all following the narrative that's been pushed upon us.
Freedom has been irreparably eroded, make no mistake.
