Cardio and Fat loss

I simply change my diet and calorie intake to loose fat-- Cardio burns way to much muscle for me  Learned it the hard way several times---

Freedy could you run through the correct form for 'Weighted Straight Leg Situps'

Nice one
I dont know if Freddy does them the same way I do, but heres my version. I lay on the floor perpedicular to a flat bench (you can also use a cage or squat rack). Spread your legs wide and hook your feet under the vertical support or wherever you can. Roll a dumbell onto your chest, keep your legs wide and as flat on the ground as you can, and explode off the floor. Ive seen this version called "spread eagle sit-ups."

Thats pretty much how I do them, except I use a narrow stance. The WSB guys used to keep their legs together when they did them in the early 90s, but decided that since they were squatting wide, they should do side ups with a wide stance too, to better develop the neural coordination for squatting.

Go with whatever is more comfortable.

Do 2-5 sets of 5-8 reps. Do not do more than 10 reps. Add weight as needed.

I did them on an incline board, my 'theory' being the weight hits you on the middle of the movement rather than the greatest stress being at the bottom where you start.

Anyone see that as a bad idea?

I just grabbed a 25 lb dumbell and did 10 to see how it would affect me (I'm done with thinking I can just do any exercise, now that I've hurt myself starting out with too much on several new things...)

Felt fine, feel fine today, so I'll warm up, do a set with 25, then maybe try 35.

Thanks, if this improves my abs I'll owe you one. Didn't believe in these from experience with non-weighted versions.

Again, like I said before, you don't have to totally eliminate crunches or more "direct" ab work. Just make sure you do something that recruits the hips first, then move on to whatever else you want.
