Only an idiot would do cardio before a hard weight lifting workout. First it fatigues the muscles which means you can not lift as much! Intensity as the Russian measure it is the amount of 1RM you can workout with so your resistance training session with suffer. None of us are on a steroid and weight lifting sight to become better endurance athlete!!! You have a golden hour after you lifts weights to idealy put some carbs and protein back into the system a short but intense cardio session especially HIIT which can be done in under 15 minutes will work nicely after lifting weights. That would still leave 45 minutes for that golden window of protein and carb intake! Anyone with any sense in their head that works out away from home takes a mixer and protein powder etc...... with them to the gym so they can "feed their muscles" after the workout. Hell a glass of chocolate milk is sufficient to make the window and make it home and have time to shower before needing to feed again!
Who int heir right mind would want to use up their glycogen doing cardio before they lift weights? Far better to use up the muscle glycogen lifting weights so that when you hop on the treadmill or elliptical your body has no choice but to switch to aerobic energy system ASAP since it has used all the redaly available glycogen. No on trying to gain muscle mass should be doing lots of cardio any ways we know know that long slow cardio is a muscle mass killer and that HIIT and Tabata rules for fat lose and VO2 max!
