checking USPS tracking numbers

i can't find the source but some dude was shipping meth from CA to IN. got caught. article said guy 'was checking USPS tracking from his phone'.
so this is probably another no-go. now meth is another thing. but they clearly will pull up tracking number internet logs. so lets say you get a controlled delivery and deny it....well why did you check this tracking ID from your devices then? has been mentioned here....but it is better not to lick on those, as least without using some TOR or VPN (outside USA VPN)

Depends on your level of paranoia. One could argue that checking tracking numbers from Tor or VPNs could get your package flagged in the first place.

I wouldn't bother about personal amounts of steroids.
this, cops arent going to waste their time tracking down a few bottles of test or tren , but meth? in large amounts yeah waaay different story. Gear in large amounts is a different story too. OP I think i saw tht was the package sent to someone that went my "ma" or "mama"? I saw somethig on tv about a pack of meth that was sent to in and they did a conttrolled deleviry

Get informed delivery. Requires no checking of specific numbers
this +1

given that our government maintains and mines a permanent data archive, accessible to law enforcement, of every single phone call, email, forum post , and internet search, does it seem plausible that lookups of tracking numbers for shipments on the worlds largest illegal drug distrubtion system are not tracked and mined?

imho standard opsec for u.s. hobbyists should be to buy domestic only; shipped no sig. a reputable vendor not offering tracking i take as positive sign of paying attention to opsec. almost never do packs from reputable vendors not deliver, and when that happens, they fix it.

it is commonplace to hear the risks of our hobby dismissed with the "small fish" argument, and it is certainly true that, on a relative basis, we are at lower risk than other hobbies. but ped users do get busted, and the amounts required to qualify as possession with intent vary greatly among jurisdictions and can stunningly small.

even if we're only "small fish," doesn't it make sense to be lesser targets than other small fish?

Well do you think drug sniffing dogs can smell anabolics?
They cannot to my knowledge. LE and Postal Inspector can see who is tracking a USPS package though. They can obtain the IP address of who's tracking and a general location of who is tracking it. Postal Inspector can add notes to the tracking information such as "package delayed" in order to "buy time" for LE.

So i was on usps app and there is an option to get updates via text. Maybe thats how he would’ve gotten caught? Id imagine if you sign up for updates of tracking via texts, there’s no way to fight it. This is just a theory i don’t know how else you’d get busted for looking at tracking other than history with a warrant.

yes its possible for them to smell steroids... and yes they do it... seen it on one of those border security shows... also Millard posted article dog smelled test in the dash... they can smell cash aswell..

I use a vpn for my work and have checked tracking numbers 20+ times on items. I've done this for 7 years and never once did usps even act slightly interested in my parcels. Most drug busts are just sheer luck with usps. A box breaks open, someone snitches someone else out, that's usually it.

Bro the government/law enforcement could figure out who you are by posting on this site asking about ordering drugs in the mail if they wanted to. It is what it is. Any part of this process has some level of risk

This. Be decent enough about OPSEC to not be low hanging fruit. That’s it. If there was effort applied none of these domestic sources could ever operate, our police state government has too many resources.

Probably better off not even daring to track such a package as your IP is tied to it should you use the USPS site to track it. If you have informed delivery it will show there when it's in the system.

It is common knowledge on DNMs to never look up tracking, so it surprised me when I saw that people on AAS forums were always so eager to get theirs. This destroys any and all plausible deniability. But of course with steroids there is less risk. As many pointed out, informed delivery is as far as it should go.

Guys, just don't check tracks on the official website, use 3rd party tool like 17track and such)
USPS has all history of track look ups and will be happy to provide the info to USPIS officers in case of investigation
