I store a lot of fat on my chest, also my lovehandles
You can kind of see the lovehandles on my back pics that I posted in the "Who is our biggest?" thread:

I got a DEXA scan yesterday, because stage weight is 177lbs so I need to get an idea of how much fat I can realistically lose
But Omron + Bioelectrical Impedance scale both say ~14.5%

Welp, you were right. DEXA scan came back: 9.35%

He is not close at all. He has a long way to go. The good news is that he is starting at a better place than most of those who will be on stage with him.Hard to say, probably, the question is are you kind of holding back with that weight cap, I mean your pretty dang close already no? Maybe im wrong
The machines are not all equal. In addition, operators are not all equally skilled. In addition, water, food. In addition, calibration matters and basically dictates the outcome. There is a debate about which calibration is best. Are dexa scans actually that accurate?

As you can see under the graph at the upper right, this is a NHANES result using the subset of white males for data comparison (percentiles)
Generally speaking, it is the best we have among all the ways to measure body fat.Are dexa scans actually that accurate?
thats very interesting. Of course it isnt a dexa contest, but I find it hard to believe he is going to have to get to a legitimate 3% to make the weight. Most guys in amateur shows can’t really be asked to do that.I'll stop now. The bottom line is that the NHANES used in ChemBB's results is probably the most accurate way we have to measure body fat.
At the end of the day, what is really going to matter is how he looks on stage, not what the Dexa says. Are there striations? Is there fat between the muscle and skin? Is that Christmas Tree in the lower back present?
Since he is competing in Classic, striated glutes will not be visible, but it would not hurt to get as lean as possible prior to stepping on stage.
By looking at he photos only, he will make the weight cutoff, but I encourage him to go by photos in all of the poses and his coach's feedback and guidance, not so much by the scale weight and cutoff.
Thanks man, means a ton coming from you!Your upper body looks very good, legs are okayish but considering the issues you have they're actually more than that.
Posing has a lot of room to improve, i know you have never competed yet but I'm telling this because if you look good with that posing if you manage to improve it you gonna look nuts.
I'll keep an eye on your log. Good luck hitting your goals bro.
I feel like I look about 11-12%. I ordered skinfat calipers, will be curious what they say as well.I think you can make 177, easily. Are dexa scans actually that accurate? Im not trying to be rude but if you are 190, at 9% youre only carrying 17lbs tissue that isn’t considered LBM?
bro if I'm not mistaken, I read that you had a heart attack at 30, and are you now preparing for a race??Thanks man, means a ton coming from you!

Also, "lean" mass includes water + glycogen, which can easily be +30lbs
