Cleaning beaker question first brew

my raws should be here soon, supposed to be delivered yesterday but delayed because of snow storm. Thinking I’ll have today or tomorrow. My question is about cleaning beakers. I’m using sealed, sterile vials and know that nothing is sterile until it goes through my whatman syringe filter. How clean do beakers need to be, I mean if I put through dishwasher, then wipe out with some Benzyl Alcohol and put in oven to get good and dry is this good? Guessing that’d make them nice and clean, maybe not sterile but is that fine since the last thing will be filtering right into sterile vials?

Don't bother wiping with ba. If you don't have liquinox, I suppose the dishwasher will do. I would rinse with distilled water and then rinse with Isopropyl alcohol.

Ok. And once the beakers are dry the alcohol will have evaporated so nothing to worry about as far as too much alcohol being left in there right?

Correct. I use 91% for this. Evaps much faster

I think the 70% is preferred generally since it takes longer to evaporate it kills more in the process. At least that's the theory

Yea that's definitely right, but it's probably a little overkill for beakers and cylinders. 70% takes ages to evap out of my cylinders. It's just what works for me ymmv

I wash everything with soap and water,dry then use these purple wipes i jacked from the hospital called
Super Sani-Cloth Germicidal Disposable Wipes.

I let them dry for like 2 min as study shows ... they are said to even kill HIV virus. Google it if your interested i think they are 6$ a contair. I wipe all devices im using during brew and leave them to dry in a seperate field till dried.. then use serile gloves when brewing with mask and hair cap....fucking breaking bad up in hear bitches lol
