Coinbase holding funds

So I am a first time user of Coinbase since Q doesn’t have a bank account setup. I bought USDC and was going to pay with solana but they are holding my money until January 7th. Guess no promo but for me this round. Lol

Do they hold funds every time you place an order unless you already have enough in there to cover it?

its because you did ACH transfer to coinbase. if you wired it, it arrives same day if before ~2pm

Ya, Cash app did the same to me no matter what amount I tried to transfer into the app. Funny thing is they had no problem with me transferring cash into the app

Did you do the verification process with cashapp? Believe it involved taking pictures of my DL and my face and then I had to wait a few days before I could fully use cashapp.

I got Coinbase to work using a debit card to fund. Cashapp is still pending even after the verification with ID.

I don’t use my debit card so it wasn’t activated so it became a whole thing but should be setup for any future purchasing.

Using Cashapp with a debit card is the way to go...Coinbase is too complicated.

I initially tried Coinbase, but I had to deal with a week long hold because I funded with ACH. Setting up a wire transfer just seemed like too much work.

Cashapp has been easier for me to navigate.
