Coinbase monitors your account to see if you use bitcoin to buy illegal drugs

Just be careful with GD as they DO also monitor much like Coinbase and MP do, even with the temp cards. If they catch you abusing the temp cards they'll lock it.

Bro there is nothing to be careful about. If I bought a green dot moneypak card and kept reloading it, that would be different. I buy a card with out using ID. There is NO way it can be trace to me what so ever. Once I use it, I throw it way. I only buy the card and put the exact amount of money needed on it.

But thanks for your concern. You can never be to careful but really this is the SAFEST way to purchase.

You are right, but they do reserve the right to lock the temp card if they notice the money going to a suspicious entity.

Say goodbye to MoneyPak anyway. And Vanilla. Was good while it lasted, but you won't see many moneypaks now and after Feb. 1st I think they are officially finished.

Back to dark wallet. At least for holdings. I feared the government would eventually put pressure on these companies. As they never wanted them to exists.

Yes, Moneypak and Vanilla won't be sold anymore after Feb 1st, so sad those options will be gone with no other good replacement other than CIM

Moneypak and Greendot do the EXACT same thing. They review acct's looking for "suspicious activity" and they "freeze" your acct.

Paypal does the same thing. Freeeze your acct and don't allow you access to it for 6months. I've got a little $400 tied up and we're going into the 4th month.
The gov't is in all of it.
Except for Bitcoin. This is why libertarians love Bitcoin. It's decentralized. The government can't restrict who you send it to or who sends it to you or freeze your account. That is, unless you give your Bitcoin to a centralized, third party "bank" like Coinbase or Circle.

There are options in place to avoid whats happened to this person using CoinBase.

1. You can "fog" your coins. This works with incoming and outgoing transactions. Its a service you will first deposits your coins into. They will create you a private wallet and no personal information is needed. (Just a good password) They will them mix your coins with all the others being mixed. (fog them) Then you can take those mixed an untraceable coins and send them to your final destination. Or into your CoinBase account. Most of these are services only accessible through TOR. (That everyone should be using anyways.)

2. Another option would be to set up an anonymous wallet on blockchain then to your final destination. CoinBase cant follow the coins past the first transaction in or out of your account.

Both options offer another level of privacy and anonymity to your transactions.

Helix - http://grams7enufi7jmdl.onion/helix/light

Coinbase could still attempt to monitor past the first transaction. Nothing stops them from doing so. They could theoretically close accounts that are sending btc to tumbling services like Bitcoinfog and Helix.
