College Cutting help

Im living in the dorms at my University and began cutting today. Ive done some very successful cutting phases back home but here its almost impossible to eat right.

Most of the time at the healthier dining halls there are steamed veggies, all kinds of pastas, salads, high fat meats like sausage or ribs or fried chicken or something. Right now my plan is to eat salads with little or no dressing and small portions of veggies from there, since it seems like that is all i can eat from there. Plus i can only go to the dining halls twice a day.

I drink multiple protein shakes throughout the day and in my dorm usually eat peanutbutter sandwiches or turkey sandwiches and tuna. What other groceries should i buy that require no cooking, dont take up alot of space and fit a tight college budget. Im thinking unsalted peanuts and cottage cheese (ive never eaten cottage cheese straight before, any tricks that make it a little easier to down?)

I consider myself a hard gainer. Hopefully that means im an easy loser.

What would yall recomend I do?

One more thing, what should i limit my sodium intake to so i dont look too watery?

Im not sure exactly what my bf is, i can still see a very faint 6pack, if i had to guess id say im about 14%. I want to get down to about 8% by march.

spring break, summer, whatever i just wanna be able to walk around with my shirtoff and not feel like a slob. PLus the attention from the ladies is cool too.

Some of those Protein shakes may be stored as fat as they do not take as many calories to digest as whole food .. They won't speed your metabolism like whole food will not to mention if you don't need all that protein ... Another thing that will cause it to be stored as fat ... Complex carbs, lean protein, and good fats (all from whole foods) in perfect combination will speed your metabolism .. check the diet section on the boards.

Anybody have any good recipes for a poor college student. I'm not living in the dorms and don't have access to a free food court. I like to eat healthy, don't eat much junk. Also I'm about to start the 5x5 program on monday. 5'10", 185, about 10-12% bf.
