Pullups, Pushups, Situps/flutterkicks, Distance Running (3-6 miles), swimming....

THese are my areas of concentration as of now. I have been on for almost 8 weeks and I have been eating and lifting like a madman. I just dropped the tren and I am on test enan right now @ 750 mg/week. Ill be switchin back to porp in a couple weeks and then running PCT. I put on 22 lbs since the start of my cycle. The Marines want me down to about 208 if I can when I show up to boot. I have really concentrated on putting on mass and gaining strength up until now. I am very happy with how I am growing, now my concentration needs to shift toward the excercises I have listed above. I know that I will drop some water weight when I come off, but I dont think it will get me back to 208. So I am gonna need to drop fat too and stop eating as if I was bulking.

Now I know that the only way to increase numbers on these excercises are to just do them, but I am a little confused as to how much is too much and if there is any specific training regimen that would optimize my performance. I dont want to stop lifting, but I do need to stop bulking. The heavier I get, the harder it is to do pullups and situps.

Any pointers would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, you will lose mass during boot camp. All the running takes a toll. You will come out in better overall shape though.

Boot Camp will be all about running. Your DI's will have you doing pushups and Bend & MF's until you drop anyway. They will carefully watch your running though and not keeping up will result in multiple problems for you. You also need to remember that running is done both with boots and tennies. Its a lot harder when running with boots. Semper Fi 1967-1970 Force Recon. UUUURAHHH!

Thanks for the replies fellas. I am very aware that I will lost most of the mass I put on, but I am looking forward to being forced to lean out. Cant fuckin wait to go! Hey Down, Rambo was a recon Marine too. You ever talked to him?

I have been alternating my running in PTs and BDUs. Im getting nice and used to running in my boots, but I wont get to take my nice broken in ones with me

But still, I am curious.....would it be counter productive if I worked out twice per day and just did as many reps as I can till I wanna puke? Or should I tone it down? I just dont want to take any steps in backward in my progress.

thanks alot

That's what I did although I wasn't "on" anything at the time. I really worked the pull-ups and sit-ups. I was fine with the running and push-ups. If you can get the physical part out of the way before you go, you only have to worry about the mental part.

Good to see more Marines in here.

Rambo etc

No I don't talk with him. We seem to hang in diffferent places on the Board. One thing I should have mentioned was pullups. You will do a lot in BC so being able to do a reasonable number will help keep your DI focused on the asshole who can't. My personal advice is to lean out and get really fit cardiovascular wise but keep strength up. Bulk after Boot Camp. When you leave AIT and go to school you will have time for training (unless you end up like me, a fuckking grunt and have to hump in the field all the time lol)

Usmc

I went to Parris Island then Lejeune. I was stationed at Pendelton for awhile. Pray to GOD and the powers that be that you never have to go to 29 Palms aka the Stumps. I like Pendelton cause you could go to LA or San Diego. Hated Lejeune typical military town it sucked..

Funny you say that. Have a good buddy, Lance Corporal LAV Crewman, who just went to the Stumps. He said the only good thing about the place is the range....no restrictions on what, when, and how many rounds you can put down range. ANybody been to Quantico? I am pretty sure that is where Security Forces Training is, but im not positive.

I've been to 29 palms, we did a CAX out there in 2002. Hot as hell but blew alot of shit up. I also did a Winter Bridgeport out there in Cali =Jan of 2001. That was the coldest training hell i've ever been through. The chow hall was awesome though. We went to Camp Shwab Oki, Japan for a 6 month UDP June 01 - Dec 01. I miss lejeune sometimes, though. Plenty of bars and pool halls to go get drunk at.

I'll chime in.

Pendleton..Loved it , mainly because Cali has so many great places to go when your off duty.

Lejeune..not terrible but have to agree with Dowstrategy, typical military town.

29 Palms..Hated it. The whole damn place is an ordinance drop zone.

Oki..Enjoyed my time there, but everything was so damn expensive.

Quantico..went to school there loved it. Some Security Forces training is there, but a lot of Embassy training etc.

oh another thing.......my contract is 0300. When you guys got to OSI, how do get selected into 0311, 0331, etc? And between Basic Rifleman and machine gunner....which one was preferred?

Went on a short float once....40 days there 45 days back. I believe you come in as an infantryman then in SOI (School Of Infantry) you request or get chosen into 0341,0351 type billets. They usually pick the big Corn-bread dudes for the machine gunners cuz the weapon systems are so heavy. For Mortormen and Assaultmen they are usually average size dudes.
