Twas The Nite Before Graduation

"good to see so many other devil dogs!"

say bro, not to be rude or not, but one must earn the title.
you will get your ass handed to you in boot camp if you have this mentality or say a line such as this.
the title "marine" is a honor and is very well earned. Not every one can be a marine, and that is why it is so special.
Good luck,

The nite before graduation on PI, my DI came in and told us that as of tomorrow morning we had earned the title Marines, but tonite we were still;
"high yellow cum balls sinking to the bottom of the ocean and you all are still lower than whale shit."

I still get all choked up when I hear the Marine Corps Hymn and every Nov 11th I go to church and say a Hail Mary for all my lost friends.

Nuff said lol.

Best of luck Bro... I'd stick to running...long and hard bro. Sounds like you are well on the way. As long as you stay out of the spot light for a while...save that hard core shit till the challanges begin...your DI will put his best up against the other platoons best to see who the top dawgs are. I was a hand to hand combat wizard well before learning what the drills taught. I had alot of "perks" from the DI for stomping any and all that he put me against. I even dropped several Dis from other squads ...with my DIs word that "what happens back here...stays back here" That was back in 89. No stress cards or coed crapp. Never understood that freakin idea anyways... Any way...where was I? Oh yea... another idea is simply holding the pushup position... sounds simple...but when you've pushed for 15-20 minutes and cant do another freakin pushup...holding the position withou fail will save yer ass on more than one occasion!!!

Best of luck Bro...

Stay focused and you'll be fine!!

Pullups, Pushups, Situps/flutterkicks, Distance Running (3-6 miles), swimming....

THese are my areas of concentration as of now. I have been on for almost 8 weeks and I have been eating and lifting like a madman. I just dropped the tren and I am on test enan right now @ 750 mg/week. Ill be switchin back to porp in a couple weeks and then running PCT. I put on 22 lbs since the start of my cycle. The Marines want me down to about 208 if I can when I show up to boot. I have really concentrated on putting on mass and gaining strength up until now. I am very happy with how I am growing, now my concentration needs to shift toward the excercises I have listed above. I know that I will drop some water weight when I come off, but I dont think it will get me back to 208. So I am gonna need to drop fat too and stop eating as if I was bulking.

Now I know that the only way to increase numbers on these excercises are to just do them, but I am a little confused as to how much is too much and if there is any specific training regimen that would optimize my performance. I dont want to stop lifting, but I do need to stop bulking. The heavier I get, the harder it is to do pullups and situps.

Any pointers would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks in advance

Did you learn the fine art of Praying to The Range God

kneeling position index fingers under the stacking swivel of you M14(real weapon not like those playpretty M16's) Arms extended and up. You know how your DI would handle someone dropping their rifle lol. Praying that you would not be the ONE.

damn.....i guess i would fall into the corn-bread dude category.

anyone else on the "sea life" ?

damn turf i didnt know u were a Ranger....sweet deal bro. My buddy is an AF 2Lt and he works in England as a munitions officer....he is giving it up to give a shot at the Rangers. hes a bad dude and im sure he will make it. no one can understand why he wants to give up all that pay and his commission though.

much respect to you and all the other servicemen here

Hey Airborne, I wish your buddy good luck. As long as he stays focused he should be good to go. He has to pass through RIP (Ranger Indoctrination Program) first to see if he can even go through the school. So basically you have to go pass a hard school to go to a hard school. It seems like there are alot of marines here so I stay quiet. I've done numerous missions with the Corp (Recon, Force Recon, MEFs and scouts) and I must say that I am very impressed with them. We had a great bond. I've been out for 3 years trying to get back into shape 'cause I'm thinking about doing one of these Iraq security jobs that pay $120,00 a year. We'll see, by the grace of God and 'roids I shall acomplish!

Steve.......I apologize for the statement. I know full well that I am not a Marine yet....didnt mean anything by that. I am fuckin pumped to earn the title though.

I have been running my ass off. I have almost gotten my 3 miles down to 18 minutes. The first time I tried to get as close as possible I ended up puking on myself in mid run hahaha. but ive been working at it and im almost there. I want to have that 300 PFT before I get there. I have extensive training already with the M-16, M-9, land nav, repelling, drill and ceremonies, customs and courtesies, and knowledge. I am now trying to memorize all of the Marine Corps knowledge so I dont have to try and do it when I get there. A good friend of mine, former Marine and martial arts instructor, is working with me to get me prepared for the ways of fighting I will have to learn. I drew a ruck from my recruiter and I have been working on humps for 5-20 miles at a time. Also trying to gradually cut down on the amount of sleep I get each night. Working hard on swimming and mastering my body weight.

I still have 2 months before I go and I am determined to be the best prepared recruit in my series. I want that series honorman title, bad!

one other thing.....I am curious as to the frequency of deployment as a grunt, specifically recon and sec forces.

thanks, guys, for bullshitting with me about all this stuff. All of this talking really helps me get mentally prepared for what im gonna face.

0311, rifleman, bullet sponge here. lol. Great thread, brought back some great memories. MCMAP training, beach runs, humping for 20 miles in SOI with those fucking packs. I hated those things with a passion, but it was worth it. Got injuried 1 year into the Corps, and they Honorably Discharged me. Tried to stay in, was suppossed to go to Iraq, but Navy said I would never be able to hump again. Was in a wheelchair for a few months, but its cool now. Going to college and having a great time. That was over a year ago when I was discharged. It'll be tough bro, but in the end it will be well worth it. Good luck, and work on your cardio.

no prob. bro, i just dont want you to go in with that attitude or they will kick your ass. Did you say you were going to pendleton or PI. for boot camp.

good job on your fitness and determination. I went in at 215(fat as shit), never worked out before, came out 168lbs. I never ran more than 2 miles without stopping. if i made it, you will be fine. just dont give up bro. It is 90% mental. You may not beleive that, but it is. It's all a game, a game that you are not intended to win, so understand that, and you will be fine. laters bro..stevo

Good Post stevo; Airborne; give 100% all the time ,everytime and keep your shit together. Once a Marine , always a Marine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what makes a better Marine is while in Boot camp let them break you down, or they will do it there way, the more knowledge you know about the history of the Marine Corps the better, learn you leadership traites & principles it should be in the knowledge I sent to you in the mail bro. that is always mentioned in Marine Corps life.

haha Rambo you change your avatar more than anyone else ive seen.

i really appreciate everything from all you guys. before i went into the ChairForce, I didnt know jack shit about it. granted, it wasnt really tough in any aspect, i still didnt know what to expect. just fro the shit Rambo sent me in the mail and from talking to all of you guys about it, i feel I have a pretty good idea of how to succeed.

any former scout/snipers out there? been looking into that field quite a bit and ill be damned if im not torn between what unit I want to try out for. i have been told by many that the best idea is to do a year as a grunt so you understand the inner workings of an infantry unit, then go and try out for the smaller units such as recon and scout/sniper, etc. anyone have a take on that?

im just damned excited to get outta this fuckin cornfield and get to trainin!!!
