Well, everything was working fine yesterday. But I get on the computer today and everything is CRAP. My sister was online last night. So I'm guessing that she downloaded or opened a virus. Everything is moving SLOOOOOOW. And programs keep freezing up on me. I'm also unable to check my cyber-rights account. I ran the Norton Anti Virus thing. But after 4 hours, it came back clean. I would really appreciate some feedback from anyone with knowledge.

How old is your sister? Is she old enough to be trusted and not messing about with the softwares, etc? If your computer keeps freezing there's something wrong indeed! Maybe you should format your hdd to be sure?

lol And where's thick the computer guru when we need him,,,at home washin his tights!Bwahaha

Why don't you just use system restore?

If that doesn't work..

Turn off system restore...reboot in safe mode... update norton and run a full system scan...

Hey Phreezer..i'm also having problems with my computer...i'm thinking i have a trojan or a backdoor..i ran a scan and came up with like 4 infected files which were deleted easily except for one that's running in the background and Windows wont let me delete it..i tried renaming it and restarting hoping it wouldnt "load" up the file but all it did was make a duplicate of itself..so i'm wondering if you know the command to put in the RUN prompt to disable certain files on start up..i remember it was something like WINCFG- or something like that...any help would be appreciated..thanks

Don't forget whoaimskinny to go into safe mode and run norton from there..that will get rid of any of those pesky viruses that you can't get rid of in normal mode ;)

exactly what iw ouldve suggested.

and if msconfig doesn't fix , u have to edit ur registry file......regedit.. then search for the executable.....and delete the entries that have the filename.......make sure u do a backup of ur registry first thought

i did all three things you guys suggested..so far it's worked and i came up with the culprit which is named "TrojanSpy Win32 Agent.K" or someshit..and i'm assuming it was a keylogger-backdoor of some kind..it no longer loads up at start up but i'm still having the problem of loading my Window Media Player..it just doesn't load up..no error messages saying it can't find the Executable...any ideas guys?

Go to start then search. Select all files and folders. Type "Media Player" into search for. Wait until it finishes. In the list you should see Windows Media Player C:\Program files. Double click on this and then select WMPlayer, it will have the Player icon next to it, click that and it should open...
