Removal of the statue by its nature, removes the heinous subject matter from debate, discourse and learning from past mistakes.

If we want to carry it further, every single war the USA has been in since WW2 has been under deceptive circumstances for the gain of a few.

Every time I walk past a memorial I cringe at the hundreds of thousands of lives lost to line the pockets of a few. Do we remove every war memorial?

That is the point.

EXACTLY!! The people in power don't give a shit about any life, no matter the race. They only see green, and would stab their own mother in the back to keep their billions. Do you know who would have been the slaves if they didn't have access to black people? Probly less fortunate unarmed whites because the natives were wiped out. Since the beginning of time, people just want to control others and play God.

Nothing good comes from erasing history.

How is this erasing history? The history of the Confederacy is taught in every middle school and high school US history class. Relics of the Confederacy are in museums.

This is like saying Germany erased the history of Nazism when it destroyed Nazi murals, monuments, etc.

Good comes from acknowledging a terrible wrong. I think on some level you realize that.
