Construction thread... Show off your work!

It truly is an epidemic. Its the reason so many illegals come to this country. Not enough Americans to do the work. Sad but true.
In my area you can go to the local home depot or bus station and pick up a worker for the day or whatever. I couldn’t even get one of the guys to pull some weeds and lay mulch in my yard. 2-3 hour tops. Didn’t want to do the job I guess.

Here are a few of the projects I've done myself the last few weeks. Remodeled a duplex I bought. Place was a run down shit hole

Like @Sparkyp I too am an electrician by trade. I have since moved off the tools into management. And thank good for that with the down turn in oil and gas here there are a ton of tradesmen out of work and not alot ot work to be found. A lot I have seen is very low paying. My last role I had my rates cut by 60% in less than a year. I had to move on. I was luck and due to my experience and being alot more multifaceted was able to find much better paying work

The market is better than what it was for the past 10 years or since the recession but still hasn’t fully recovered.

Good afternoon gentlemen,
I figured I'd ask on here since a lot of you guys are so knowledgeable with construction. I went up in my attic today and noticed a leak/crack. Any suggestions how I could fix this?

I would love to show off my new construction project but then everyone here would know who I was I'm afraid. Kind of sucks wanting to join in the conversation but not wanting people to know who you are. :(

A carpenter can give you a better solution but even with cracked sheathing or tongue and groove sub roof, the water should still roll over the shingles. I wonder if the shingles in that area are also cracked or damaged

Eh fuck it. If they know me they probably already know I'm not natty.
So we are expanding one of our businesses right next door to the current one. Tile was finished yesterday and I think we did well with the colors. We are putting up cloth walls with 1/4" padding behind them and wall sconces. The walls are like a dark red velvet with gold accents. Very 1700s french chateau feeling.

That's beautiful, seriously looks like the Versailles section of the metropolitan museum!
