Controlled domestic delivery?

My instincts just kicked in. There was something about him. He clearly wanted to ID me , and to pronounce my name correctly , nobody does. His body language . I am out $700 . I am sure bail would have been more. Now as far as what raised suspicion , I don't know . It sucks. I just want my Damm gear.lol

I think you did the right thing but I'm also a paranoid person. The whole vehicle and asking about the sender would have tripped me out and I likely would have done the same exact thing. You may have or have not lost a bit of money over that but it's definitely an easier pill to swallow then your freedom.
I would also be one to think that if it was LE with a controlled delivery they aren't going to stop at that, so I'd take every precaution i could and NOT get any packages shipped my way for quite some time.
Good luck, man I hope it all is just simple paranoia

The source which is still great in my eyes, insisted I go pick it up, which would have been odd. That pack was already on its way back to nowhere . it was funny when he pointed to the return address and he said "do you know this guy"?. Who cares that much? I just smelled something outher than a regular postal worker.

I'm with you. If instinct says it's a no go it's a no go. Always listen to your gut. Can't put a price on freedom and I would rather be safe than sorry. When I was paranoid about a controlled delivery not to long ago I ended up picking it up later because I ended up feeling it was ok and not out of the norm once some guys explained the special delivery that can happen. I had just never had a package delivered that way. Your situation sounds a little more sketchy though. Sorry about your loss bro!

Yeah the thought of where the pack may go would worry me too, but if you go pick it up now that would raise suspicion IMO..but then again if you go pick it up its not likely the delivery guy would be there so you may catch another employee? Who knows..typically, when I've found myself in a bad situation in the past, had I listened to my gut in the beginning I could have avoided the 'bad' situation all together.

Serious? Anyone could have sent that pack to him is what my attorney would say. If I had a delivery like that I would have refused to accept it. Doesn't sound like usps or any other delivery service I ever heard of.
This is exactly right, someone also posted that the postal service has its own investigators... this is also correct... postal inspectors are federal officers who go through similar training as the atf, and the us marshals service... they carry firearms and can make arrests just like the others....
Also, people have to remember that the us postal system, the mail specifically is the #1 method of fraud in the United states... criminals obtain a person's personal info, and have credit cards, or other illegal shit sent to the persons address in the hopes of intercepting the packages before the person gets home to pick up the mail....
The reality of the situation, is no, the cop wouldn't have just accepted the refusal, and probably would have attempted some sort of probable cause warrant to search your home.... but yes your attorney could most definately get the charges dismissed....

I don't know why everybody is getting so bent out of shape. I tried to deliver you your package, I WAS JUST FUCKING WITH YOU. PS. All words written are fictitious and serve for entertainment purposes only!!!

If your package arrived at the post office after your normal carrier left for his/her route it is not uncommon for the office manager to deliver express or controlled packages.
(My brother in law works for USPS.)

I suggest researching the various ways of receiving packages not at your home and/or in your name. A little investment of time and possibly a little money can mean the difference between freedom and legal headaches.

i didn't say i would accept the package, quite the contrary. i said that I have a hard time believing that a simple "I refuse it" would close the case. if LE is building a case against you, and you are in fact breaking the law, you are going to have a bad time.

there is actually a ton of info via Google about this exact scenario. TIL: the majority if the time, once a controlled delivery is set, a search warrant has already been signed.

if you accept your pack during a CD, the agent arrests you on the spot.

if you refuse your pack during a CD, the agent already has a search warrant. he will then enter your house to search, ransack, and destroy your life. and you will most likely be arrested on the spot...and they will find all your deviant, Japanese tentacle porn in the process.

I don't know if we are allowed to link to other sites, but steroid dot com has a page dedicated to CD's with good info.

I agree. I am being told that I can have that pack resent , but it went back to bogus address. Not that I want to. It would absolutely raise an eybrow.

I looked at the tracking on package and it said basically there was no one there to sign for it. I could have it re shipped. My source says I have nothing to worry about. It's fucking with me .

Here's a question to ponder.
If that was indeed a postal inspector, would @Seve be flagged for future deliveries?

Btw, i agree with the masses, i think you did the right thing. Better safe than sorry!

What if it went to an address where someone actually lives and they open it? Not trying to freak you out, but that would be on my mind.

THis is a interesting read i found on reddit. Dont check your Tracking info lol

Courtesy of DDW, "DEA: South Florida 'dark web' dealer sold deadly heroin from China" announced the arrest of 'Owlcity', an AlphaBay seller of fentanyl, alpha-PVP, MDMA, cocaine, Xanax. The article incorrectly gives the arrest reason and sounds totally bizarre (he sent them the post office address...?), but when I looked up the complaint the complaint reveals what actually happened - after several undercover buys had localized Owlcity to South Florida, they made another order and:

On February 26, 2016, DEA agents received information from the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) that the tracking status of the Priority Mail package that OWLCITY sent to complete the October 23, 2015 heroin order was queried online on the U.S. Postal Service website from an IP address assigned by AT&T to an a ccount associated with the Leslie Residence.

They began in-person surveillance of Leslie, watched him drive to the post office with additional orders & intercepted the packages, ISP monitoring of Tor activity, correlation of Owlcity inactivity with computer repair, and finally a raid 27 July 2016.
