Cop Who Used Text Messaging to Buy Steroids Pleads Guilty

A Philadelphia Police officer who used text messaging to order illegal steroids has pleaded guilty to steroid possession and distribution charges. Joseph McIntyre used his cell phone to order steroids via SMS: “I need 3 test .. 1 CYP .. 1 SUST AND 1 DECA when I come over and I wanna stay on test I’m off. Please don’t forget my two bottles I only have 1 deca left and had my buddie wait for 1 week for the sust.”

Real rocket scientist here. One would think that a law enforcement officer would have training in electronic surveillance. Text messages are not encrypted and easily discoverable. Smart move!

Exactly. Its just shocking to me that LE could be this sloppy. You would think he would be extra-cautious given his actions could - and did - ruin his career.
