Does anyone take this? The guy at the supp store was trying to push it on me. Says its good for lowering blood pressure and infertility. What's your take on it?

i take it, but i dont know why. prob read it was good somewhere. i think its an anti-oxidant and fights free radicals. good for heart and metabolism

I used to buy those expensive all in one "cycle supports" when I was starting out. Now I take:
CoQ10 (blood pressure)
Red Yeast Rice (cholesterol)
Milk thistle (for liver if I'm running an oral)
Saw Palmetto (for prostate)
Taurine (for back pumps and esp if I'm running clen)
Fish oil (for joints)

*** I just recently read that in a study done on the effectiveness of CoQ10 on maintaining healthy blood pressure that the study showed "inconclusive results". So as expensive as this stuff I may cut it soon and see if I notice any changes.

I keep wanting to get red yeast rice. How do you like it, think it really lowers cholesterol? I've read alot of good reviews about it.

If you want to use it for lowering cholesterol you need to buy it from a company that doesn't market it as a dietary supplement in the USA. IIRC the FDA won't let supplement companies sell red yeast rice extract with the statins in tact, so you need to get a chinese brand (like a bulk powder).

Good looking out man, I heard the same thing about Ubiquinol.

Fiber for Cholesterol
Turmeric for Blood Pressure

Ill look into the tumeric right now. Thanks

Does that stuff really make a big difference in bp and cholesterol if you're on cycle?

I think I noticed a difference for bp, but it was pry just the placebo affect. Im not buying it anymore, I bought the good shit from china and its too exspensive.

Red Yeast Rice is what gave the chemists at Merck the idea for statins. It will reduce both your cholesterol and your natural Co-Q10 levels as long as it contains the active ingredient that inhibits HMG-CoA reductase. It's a good idea to supplement with Co-Q10 in that case, though the benefits of supplementation have not been clearly demonstrated (AFAIK).

If it has the active ingredient removed, then there's no point in taking it or Co-Q10.

As far as reducing BP with supplements goes, it's very easy to check. Get a good BP monitor and see what they do. If they dont work, toss them.

Just FYI, Hawthorne berry/digitalis and magnesium/calcium channel blockers have the same story for BP as red yeast rice/statins have for cholesterol. Pharma 'steals' the idea from an un-patentable (aka inexpensive), natural source, and turns it into a $15 pill...

Good list - would you mind sharing the brands you use? Thanks!
