Alright guys never trained my core or abs directly because they have always been strong and i have a wide waist as it is but Fuck it. I want to really blast my core abs and obliques for a few months to see if i could get a different type of look going

So i was interested in seeing some of your guys or girls about routines.

I hit my abs/obliques on back day normally, here is what I do

Dumbbell Side bend 4 sets of 8-12 reps
Reverse Cable Crunches 4 sets of 8-12 reps (sometimes I lie on a decline bench others just on the floor)
Stomach Vacuums 3 sets holding for as long as I can.
Decline crunches/situps or Ab crunch machine 3 sets of 8-12 reps

Sometimes I substitute one of these with using an ab roller, going left diagonally then right then straight ahead, each way 4 times for a total of 12 reps with 3-4 sets.

Crunches and leg lifts will take you a long way. However, a book worth reading is titled Legendary Abs. The edition I had was old and paperback, but the routine was effective. With a title like "Legendary Abs" there could be a lot of different information than the paperback I am referring to.

I am personally not a fan of crunches.

Ab wheel will work your abs and your pullup ability. Maintain tension in your abs throughout the movement so as not to let the work move to your lower back instead of the abs.

Planks and leg raises, Russian twists, and Dumbbell pullovers do the Rest.

All of the above strengthen your abs, obliques and serratus. Diet makes them visible.
