Dead lifting Questions

When I was training, regular dead lifts were one of my favs. I never wore a belt until I started lifting my own weight, then wore one. For RDL, as a rule, like somone else said with the SLDL, keep the weight as close to your legs possible. Dont arch back at the top, and go straight back down keeping the bar close to your knees and keep your head straight the whole time. I always let the weights hit the floor, I reckon you get a better pump than trying to keep your muscles flexed permantly from just holding the weight, even pause for a few seconds on the harder reps with the weight on the ground.

I always went one hand over one hand under grip and just swapped them around. Also once my forearms were getting to cained I started using straps as well. Worked really well and I would never leave this out of any workout as it hits a great deal of your body in one hit. I dont think you would even need to do SLDL.

From the looks of it, that's more of a Romanian Deadlift. You can tell by how he is pushing his ass back and bending at the knees slightly.

Wednesday I dropped the SLDL and went for the DL. I tried to keep my shoulders and butt in a straighter line than the guy in the video and wound up scraping my shins with the bar and being much closer to the floor at the bottom of the rep. Was that wrong?

Also, it seemed that keeping my gaze straight out or up slightly, as opposed to looking higher up, takes a lot of strain off the neck.

Does anyone have a another link to something that shows the deadlift?

Thanks

lower your ass more, like get it under the weight kind of. fire up with the glutes, not lower back thats the 2nd line of attack
