BB functions as a stabilizer and preservant in addition to being a solvent. It will extend the shelf life of the oil and keep it from going rancid for a lot longer than without it.
People are so obsessed with brewing without our but it’s very safe so there’s not a reason to forgo it in my opinion, especially if you plan to keep a batch for years.
