Well I started this study this week. I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in a log on this medicine. I know some are on the same medication as I am just wondering if anyone is interested. Or if it would be wasting space?

Yeah they use it for opiate treatment and addiction.

I heard that it can become more addictive than the drug it's meant to treat. Any truth to that?

Yeah it's pretty addictive for myself but I don't tend to abuse it like other drugs so it does help me. I'm being treated for low back pain in this new study.

I would be interested.

It's a new version. No right now I'm on one dose per week, then after 10 weeks goes to one dose a month. And check this out the give me a rescue medication incase I have to much pain. The rescue med is hydrocodone 5 s . That was crazy to me because every other doctors says don't take anything with it.

It's safe to take painkillers AFTER your suboxone dose, they just won't be very effective. BUT if you take suboxone AFTER taking regular opiates like hydrocodone, you will go into precipitated withdrawal, because suboxone has a much higher binding affinity, and it kicks the weaker opiates off the receptor site.

I thought it does something like that. so far I'm doing OK got my first shot yesterday a little pip about like testosterone the next day.

Just wanted to update this for the ones interested, just finished my first week on this medicine I did pretty good except the last couple of days. I could tell that it was wearing off. I got my second injection today they doubled the dose. It's definitely a slow acting med not really noticeable at first but after few hours it starts working good definitely helps control my pain.

This is exactly what the doctors say, hence the 24hrs you must wait before receiving the meds. And yes, subs are extremely strong and imo harder to kick than most any other opiate due to its half life.

Damn your doc is way different than most. I would have thought he would have given you sublingual subs as opposed to hydros with such a short half life and can easily be abused. The typical addict would get high on all the hydros then switch to subs, so don't see yours docs thinking here. And can't imagine why they're making the med a depot. The 8mg strips are strong as shit. I remember they would write me a script for a ton of them every month and never used them all. Ended up tossing dozens of them in the end. Good thread, interested to see the results.

Yeah it blew my mind when he gave me the tabs most doctors want consider anything when you're on the strip. I been on suboxone a long time. The shot doesn't seem to give me the same head buzz but helps the pain.

What's the actual drug ingredients names? I'm guessing they attached an ester to it. I know of people who inject subs and they don't last that long.

Buprenorphine is the active ingredient I don't know what they attached to it. But I'm guessing an Ester also they give the shot with a t handle looking needle. Never seen one like it.

Just going to give an update on this for those who were interested. started my third week and they increased my dose to 16mg and I have to say I'm doing really well its nice to not have to take something daily. Had more pip with the increased dose but it's still not real bad I'm looking forward to going on the monthly injections to see how well they will work.
