I use oral minoxidil, 2.5mg. Sent a message to my primary care doctor's office saying I wanted to try it for hair loss. they sent the prescription without asking any questions. Insurance won't cover it for hair loss. Shop around using goodRX or any other discount prescription programs you know of. Amazon pharmacy also has it for about $15 bucks/ 90 day supply. What do you recommend?
And I use this as a topical. I microneedle every 5 days with a stamper. Not a roller. This topical has 8% monixidil, dutasteride, finasteride, latanoprost (often found in womens eyelash growth serums), tretinoin, melatonin and a few other compounds. It has worked well for me.

I was curious about the melatonin as an active ingredient and found a study that showed a benefit to using it.

In the search for alternative agents to oral finasteride and topical minoxidil for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia (AGA), melatonin, a potent antioxidant and growth modulator, was identified as a promising candidate based on in vitro and in ...
The study used a topical solution of 0.0033% melatonin and found
"The increase in the hair count was 29.2% (3 months vs. 0 month) and 42.7% (6 months vs. 0 month)"
..... this is hair loss. there is no magic thing that works 100% of the time for everyone.
