Diet Help....Need Some Advice Guys...

I did a really stupid thing.

...But first, I want to say I appreciate beyond measure the knowledge that you guys give me on a daily basis. Love it. This board is my favorite board.

So, I wanted to try something different, as I am always trying new things, and I decided to try a full keto diet along with some Test and Tren. For the past 4 months, I have strictly followed a below 20 gram carb diet daily. No exceptions, no cheat days. Protein has been very high.

I have never felt so run down in my life. I literally would fall asleep at work (thankfully I have a job where I am traveling and can do this without getting caught). I barely have the energy to get a workout done. BUT, my bodyfat has been melting off me like never before.

For lunch today, I decided to have 2 yams with butter along with my ground beef and onion concoction. I came off my keto diet. I had insane energy! Whereas before I would have been so lethargic in the afternoon, I was able to power through the day with energy.

I need some MesoRX Veteran help. How can I incorporate just enough carbs so that I don't gain back the bodyfat I've lost in the past 6 months, but still have that carb energy boost?

I guess what I'm asking for is some dieting advice. I am humble enough to admit that not all of my experimentation works.

You’re not gonna like the answer, but find out what your TDEE is and eat that amount of calories everyday. Stick with whole foods and this should be pretty easy.

There’s no magic to this. Just consistency and actually paying attention to what you’re doing/eating.

I'm fine with that answer. Thanks. How should my macros look on a 3000 calorie a day diet?

Personally I like to keep it around 1g/lb protein, .3 g/lb fat, and the rest should be carbs. that doesn't have to be set in stone with the fat and carbs, there can be some play, but I do feel carbs help you recover better than higher fat. If you gain wait at 3000 cal, drop it by 200 cals/wk until you reach maintenance, and vice versa if you're still losing weight at 3k cals.

Macros smackros. Why do people find this so complicated. Here is what has worked for me and every single client of mine. You need to know maintenance calories. Excessive calories is what adds fat. Not carbs. Protein keep near 1 gram per lb of bodyweight. Fats keep under 80 grams adjust carbs based on gaining or losing weight. Easy peasy.
Example 200 lb man.
200 grams protein = 800 calories
80 grams fat = 720 calories
Total = 1520
Needed for maintenance 2500
Maintain weight 250 carbs = 1000 calories
Lose weight 200 grams
Gain 300 grams.
Calories and protein matter most. Good luck.

what these guys said is pretty much spot on, if your done dieting, you can be done with the misery. now stay lean so you don't have to diet 16 weeks im not surprised you feel like that.

if you didn't take a detailed log, bw x14 or 15 should be about maintenance, or can determine how much weight you lost and do some math and figure about where your at.

if you like to eat carbs, could always dow low and high carb days, just make sure your average number of calories each day (total calories per week/7) is correct.

There’s no reason to do keto or any restrictive dieting. The actual fat loss is no different on any type of diet as long as protein and calories are equal. By having no energy wgat you’ve actually done is lower your metabolic rate by not being as active. Eat what you want just watch your calories. Keto does make fat loss happen any faster. What happened was you lost water and glycogen.

I know...but my abs looked great :(

:(

I’ve gotten lean on protein shakes, snickers bars, and donuts. I ate nothing but junk and protein shakes for an entire fat loss phase. There was not a difference made as far as results

I think Tren does something to blood sugar, because I have done some variation of keto dieting for years and years now, but when I add Tren to the mix, I feel like a diabetic in need of a sugar pop, 24/7.

Apparently it can Increase insulin sensitivity. I didn't experience this on tren but on npp I felt like I was going hypo if I went more than acouple of hours without carbs. Spoken to a few guys who get the same on tren

I would just keep them around your workouts, especially post workout as I personally handle carbs the best that time. And as far as gaining fat back goes, the reason you were fat in the first place is from overeating your maintenance which is most easily done with carbs/fatty food combinations. I’m not strictly following keto anymore but I still keep carbs very low for most of the day until I workout, that way I still get the appetite suppression/stable blood sugar levels without dragging ass through workouts.

Say you do want to eat carbs at a time far from your workout, it won’t be detrimental as long as you control your calories. I just find carbs make me want to constantly eat more throughout the day.

How the hell do you cut with that food? I would be constantly hungry

I did it just to do it. I didn’t feel great. I got a little sick of it but I got tired of people talking about macros over calories. The biggest point though is there’s no reason to restrict food choices.
I’m not going to tell my wife we can’t go out to dinner because I’ve got to diet. Food choices shouldn’t control someone’s life. If it’s not sustainable it should go out the window

The thing is, when I do keto, I fucking tear up meat like I'm an animal. And whenever I get hungry, I'm hungry for meat again. I didn't feel restricted really.
