Digestion gone to shit

What works great for me is the classic warm prune juice and water.

I just fill a small 8oz mug/glass approximately 3(pj):1(H2O), microwave about 35-40 seconds and when the temperature is to my liking I knock it all back. If it's an extra bad day, I slam two in a row.

If you have to go anywhere within a 2-3 hour window, probably would be best to wait until you don't have to worry about being anywhere but home for a while, if you attempt this.
Does anyone else get constipation when cutting?

It doesn't matter what I do, whether eating veggies or adding fiber, bananas or whatever, my poops are solid and hard to pass.

The only time I have nice poops is when I eat a ton of garbage food, but I haven't done so in months since I've been very consistent with my diet.

It could be water, but even that doesn't make a difference. I am on clen right now so IDK if that could be an issue, drying things up, but this has been getting worse as I lower my calories over my cut.

My best shits were when I was bulking lol.

Well I know how to make myself poop if I have to, I just them to be normal again lol.

Not a big veggie person, but even when I add them in, nothing changes. I do have a steak salad everyday, made with a Costco salad kit, and it s a blend of all kinds of veggies: organic romaine, chicory, broccoli, cauliflower, red cabbage, and carrots
Well maybe you were just not eating enough to get the bulking effect that was needed. How manyu grams of fiber have you ate regularily after building up to that level. As suddenly adding a lot of fiber can also cause constipation.

Dietician here, what’s your water intake, what’s your fibre intake, and how close are you eating before bed? Do you consume liquids with your meals?
I drink 20fl oz of either water/Gatorade/ zero cal drink, every time I have a meal, eating 4 meals a day total.

Fiber, I'm not sure exactly, but even me taking fiber supplements never solved the issue for me. I do have an apple every morning with my PWO meal; a bananna with my steak salad, which is a mixed greens of sorts mentioned above in another post.

My last meal I eat before I go to bed, typically at 9:30 and I'll go to bed around 11. Sometimes Ill have my protein pudding if I'm feeling hungry.

Betaine hcl also seemed to help me, I used to get acid reflex along with poor digestion so I take betaine hcl 500mg every meal and make sure I drink enough all throughout the day (like at least half a liter every hour throughout the day and between meals)

To clarify, are you only consuming 80oz of fluid a day?

TLDR: if you are only drinking 80 oz, you need more liquid. Legit AT LEAST double it. Optimally close to tripling it.

If so, 100% that’s your problem. Also not saying you are currently intentionally increasing fiber, but Increasing fibre without increasing liquid is asking for constipation.

If you’re doing any cardio or anything, you’re also having additional water losses, and if you’re eating less carbohydrates, you have less places for your body to store water so you’re gonna pee it out.

Keep up drinking with your meals, but also get some fluids after / in between your meals also.

Think of your intestines like cheese cloth where the water permeates out. Imagine You want to keep the foods in your intestines moist because steak and salad for example don’t absorb water, so once the water leaves the intestine your meal sits there dry and drying (hard stools) until you shove more food in it which exacerbates the problem.

Hope that makes sense.

Ya, so basically two gallons a day.

Well, as of right now I've increased water intake and also taking probiotics. So hopefully this does something.

It makes most people blow out their angus with diarrhea. It works great but I only use it when I’m majorly plugged up.
Haha. That is true. But I have found some versions of magnesium citrate that don't give that instant diarrhea effect. There shouldn't be a difference between these magnesium citrate products, but a lot of times there is. I find that products labeled "tri-magnesium citrate" are the good ones don't cause the above problem.

Sometimes I combine like 100-200mg citrate with 100-200mg of another type of magnesium like magnesium taurate. And this keeps things regular without creating the explosive diarrhea effect.

Do you make protein pudding? If so how?
