Discard Novarel HCG after 30 days?

Hi All:

I'm on my second "new" box of Novarel HCG. The new boxes are bigger and come with 30ml of bacteriostatic water. The older boxes were smaller and came with only 10 ml.

Anyway, the new box says to use within 30 days. The leaftlet inside says the same.

I don't think I've saved any of the old boxes or leaflets, but I could swear that they said that they were good for 60 days.

Is Ferring (maker of Novarel) being extra cautious now? I used my previous "big box" for 61 days.

I'd like to know...

I'd really like to know as well. At 30 days the stuff is just not cheap.

I think someone posted that the water was from a different supplier and would not last over 30 days. I just got my Hcg in the Mail from Medcohealth and they sent me six box's. My Dr. wrote the scrip for a 90 day supply. Here is the name APP "American Pharmaceutical Parthers Inc." 10,000 USP Units Two-Vail Set 10 mL. It says to Refigerate for 60 days. My cost was $5.00.
I one I am using now is Novarel and it is to be Refigerated for 30 day. A question on mixing this. It said to use a 10mL needle and pull the air out of the Freeze Dried Vail and inject it into the water Vail. I tryed doing this and the air would not come out there was no air in the Vail. So I ended up just pulling the water out and injecting it in to the Freez Dried vial. Is this right.

Yeah, that's why I do 5 ml twice instead of 10 ml once.

The only problem is that you end up with too much pressure in the HCG vial. Just stick a needle in the HCG vial to let the pressure out.

Also, the idea is to use sterile air (from the HCG vial). But I don't think that's an issue. If that worries you, start a new vial.

BTW, I go 8 to 10 weeks regardless of what the insert says. :)

That's certainly a good deal you got on the hCG. I have the same kind of hCG as you, and I also got a several boxes of it at once.

The idea is that you want to use the air from the hCG vial to replace the water that you are taking out of the bac water vial while at the same time making room in the hCG vial for the water. But I tried that last time without thinking it through and it didn't work very well. This is the way I will do it next time:

I will take 3 3mL syringes. I will take the needles off of two of the syringes push those needles into the vials. This will prevent having a vaccum inside of the vials. Then I will use the third syringe to move the water out of the water vial into the hCG vial.

Thanks David it was my first try and I tryed to pull the air out but the syringe was pulling no air and when I let go of it it went from like 3 mL back to zero. It was like I was pulling a vacuum there was no air in it. And after I put in the water yes I had to let out some air. I wonder what was wrong. The new Hcg I got came with 5 mL needles. So tell me how would I do this.

guys- important hcg question(mixing)

i always used a regular 3cc syringe to draw out the water and inject 3cc of water into the powder;i would do it 3 times and then 1 more time for the 10th cc. then i refrigerate it. is this correct,i just read how you guys draw air out of the bottle with the powder first?i am a bit confused.

Empty the 5 ml syringe. Stick it in the HCG powder vial and withdraw 5 ml of air. Pull out the syringe and stick it in the water vial. Put the 5 ml of air into the water vial and then withdraw 5 ml of water. Pull out the syringe and stick it in the HCG/powder vial and put the 5 ml of water into the HCG powder vial.

Repeat the above, gently shake the 10 ml of reconstituted HCG and put it in the refrigerator.
