Can someone give me a run down of this discord server thing I keep hearing about? What is it? Like a type of Reddit or something?

It's basically like a group Skype or Ventrilo, Teamspeak, Mumble etc., except instead of it being just a voice chat between someone or a group, you can talk via text and post pictures etc.
Imagine a forum where you can talk to people via voice chat as well.
You have to be invited.
Whats good about it is you are surrounded by people who have the same interests as you. Whats bad about it is it is just like a paid board. You talk shit or make comments the mods or admin don’t like, you are booted or comments are deleted.
It’s great for a source because you can pick and choose who you want on your channel. Nothing bad will ever be said about your product, cuz if it happens, you are most likely out of the club.
Basically it’s a place where everyone pats each others backs and talks trash about other sources (people) without the chance for being called out or ridiculed. @Stinkfinger1112

i liken it to the old AOL chat rooms, the way the flow of the conversation goes.
Direct replies require name tagging if there's multiple people chatting at one time and you want to reply to different posts and still make sense.
Also, if you aren't around often and the channel has a lot of members, there's a shit ton of old posts to go through before getting caught up, if you're inclined to read them all.
