If you cant be bothered buying a sharp disposable bucket for a few bucks of the web what i sometime do is keep an empty 5lb tub of protein powder or the like and use that when full use duck tape to make sure the lid cant come off and then take it to your local dump and dispose of it there.

call me paranoid, but...

i seperated the needle from syringe. i took a large coffee can and dumped some of the syringes in there. with a propane torch i melted them down(this takes time). then added more. then i threw in all the needles and let them melt into the molten plastic. then i dumped the other half of the syringes and melted them down on top of the needles. TOTAL ENCAPSULATION !

then i just dump it.

I do the same as Joe, probably because thats where I got the idea from, only I used my gas grill to melt them down in a coffee can. One big chunk of plastic when your done.

I use an empty liquid laundry detergent jug, like Tide. I put everything in there, empty amps, vials, syringes, needles, swabs. When full I screw the cap on very tight and in the trash it goes. The plastic they use is very durable and is never recycled.
