DNP and low carbs

My lifting partner is currently cutting using a Palumbo type diet (carbs PW only and protein and fats throughout the day). He wants to throw in some DNP to burn fat faster. He has used DNP before with a modererate carb diet, but never low carb. I thought DNP would be ineffective on a low carb diet because it will burn dietary fat before body fat. I also thought carbs were needed to have it work optimally. Can anyone offer any insight or experience? Thanks.

If you run a low carb diet with DNP, the results are minimal. I tried this on my first cycle just to see what happened, and the DNP just didn't really start working until I bumped my carb intake up significantly.

Heretic just made a great post with Kemo about not using a low carb diet with DNP. It's called "How to not fuck up DNP"

here is part of Heretics post
I cant find where he said a low carb diet minimises the effects of DNP
point it out to me please.

"SECOND GUIDLINE...How to eat on DNP. This is purely personal experience, because some guys like to carb-deplete *before* using DNP (then eat carbs as usual while on), and other guys like a low-carb approach throughout. Both are fine. Using DNP is the only time that fructose is a desireable cutting carb, because it keeps the liver replentished. That reduces lethargy and spares muscle.
Be aware that eating high-carb foods WILL increase the heat sensation within an hour, and last about 2 hours. That means don't eat carbs before bed unless you want those night sweats to be even WORSE.
Personally, I ate whatever the hell I wanted! IHOP, chinese, fajitas...Yes, I burned hot, but I still lost 1.5 pounds every 2 days. Keep protein HIGH for muscles' sake, and try it yourself"

thanks

here is an older post by kemo that does back-up
what you wrote...low carb is bad on DNP

"As for carbs, there is a metabolic reason you cannot carb deplete while on this program. You CAN carb deplete prior to starting DNP, but once you take that first pill it is vital to keep some carbs in your diet. I would recommend getting between 25 and 40% of your calories from carbs. If you go to low, you are going to be miserable without getting the results you want.....DNP needs a little glycogen to properly function (Very detailed analysis available if you want....) However, and this is where people go wrong......do not eat fast acting sugars, or you are going to burn up!!! Eat slow acting carbs like potatoes, yams, long grain rice, etc. Unless you really want to enter the 6th ring of Hell, stay away from fast acting sugar like chocolate, pie, sweet tea, sugared coffee, etc. I can tell you"
