Training is going well , based on my still limited knowledge of how it should be going lol.

Its definitely brutal, but I think I'm passed the break in period. A session of yokes or heavy deads and atlas stones isnt breaking me down for over a week anymore. I'm able to recover pretty well and finish out the routine we been following the next few workouts without feeling like the previous training day is hindering me still.

I'm still doing powerlifting. As a matter of fact there's a small unsanctioned local meet at a gym nearby the weekend after my strongman comp. My body willing I'm gonna go and wreak havoc and see if/how strongman training has impacted my big 3.

It's amazing how quickly the body can adapt when you're willing to put in the work in the gym and recovery. Glad to hear training is goin well.

Take that whole week off I between the two meets so you can recover. The strongman will act as the peak for the PL meet. Just do some mobility work and dynamic/static stretches to help recover from the first meet. Maybe go in a smash some light comp lifts for the PL meet with baby weights to grease the groove so to speak.

We're pretty close to each other if memory serves me correctly. I might be able to handle you at the PL meet if you need someone if I have enough time in advance to get off work. I'm going to try and go down for another member here to be a handler for his first meet
 
Never mind it is exactly what its called. I googled it.

It's basically this pic but I don't have a bamboo bar. I use regular Olympic bar and hang plates off the ends of the bar with resistance bands. The real bamboo bar has tons of whip and bends a lot. The idea is to work stabilization and shoulder/rotator cuff with it. Helps give more stabilized feel for heavy weights.

Jerky, salt and vinegar chips lots of potassium and pedialyte/Gatorade man. Lots of water too. Minimize any caffeine you drink that day also.
Yeah im taking up wunder's potassium chloride protocol. Should help. Ive never tracked potassium in my life. And im also making revisions to my H20 intake strategy. Starting with 20oz immediately upon awakening and drinking more on purpose throughout the day.

Water intake is never an issue for me unless it's really busy at work and I don't have time to stop.

Glad the weights are moving up bud. any plans for a meet?
My gym has a bamboo bar but ive never tried it. looks like it could be alot of fun, or a quick visit to the dentist to replace your front teeth. ill have to give it a go sometime

also, could you post up some of the mobility work the Chiro has you doing. i need both some hip and shoulder stuff. hips are getting better, shoulders are starting to need some attention.

I may take you up on that offer if I end up doing a meet in the SPF in December. I have an acquaintance that is competing that's been begging me to come do one of their meets.

I'm not a huge fan of vinegar and I prefer sour cream and onion chips lol but Mugsy and POB both mentioned salt and vinegar chips for my meet so that's what first came to mind here lol. Point taken though :p

It's great for shoulder health/strengthening and learning to stabilize heavy weights bc the bar itself and the suspended weights on the end flop around like homo limp dick at the playboy mansion. POB's gym has it and that's the first and only time I used that bar. At my gym I can only suspend the weights so I get most of the benefit but not all.

Bc of our schedules I've not seen the chiro student at the gym after the one day. If you're talking about the other chiro, I saw her last a few years ago but will go again soon if nothing Improves or I need help. She was amazing with the needles and e stim as well as trigger points.

I'll post up vids of what I'm doing for you though. They seem to be helping.

December weekend will be tough bc of how bust we get but I'll try if you go through with it. I'll PM you where I'm at to see how close we are

Second day back from wisdom teeth removal. Felt fresh, lots of energy and explosive on my lifts.

10/9

squats 3x5
OHP 3x5
deadlifts 3x5
incline DB press3x6
BB curls 3x8
some external rotation work for the rotator cuff and elbow. Don't know what you would call it but grabbed the cable, locked the elbow at the side and pulled it for external rotation. 3x10

squats and presses felt great. Took SexyEcksy's advice and widened my grip about 2-3in and no pain in the forearms today. Did a lot of distraction with the resistance bands pre and post workout. Also did some inversion at the end. Low back issues are still present but nowhere near as bad as before. I notice them mostly in deadlifts. Maybe it's a mental block/barrier but I feel weakest on deads and have that nagging feeling like I can't pull so I think im limiting myself more so mentally than physically.

I worked nights my first deploymwnt and we showed up in July. When I had to piss and it was 120+ outside I had a nice wide mouth gatorade bottle, barely got out of bed. And when we convoyed? I'll just say I've seen women in a whole new light.

Don't know how this adds to the thread, but I'm in an elevated mind state and I'll forget I did this after I hit reply.
