Hi guys,

I also have been suffering with Prostatitis severley for the last 6 months. I have also been off for the same amount of time as well. Of course that's when the problem started...right at the end of my cycle. My quality of life sucks: depression, low sex drive, pain in the whole area and difficulty keeping a hard on.

My doc has given me levaquin and Bactrim (I think that was the name) with no reief. I started taking Saw Palmetto with nil results.
I'M GOING CRAZY!!!!

What is this Indoplix stuff....I'd be interested to know more about it.

Also, does Prostatitis mean NO MORE CYCLES???
I can't imagine not being able to juice any more but don't wanna make the prostatitis worse by juicing....HELP!!!

There are two forms of prostatitis syndromes -- acute (short-term) and chronic (long-term). Acute attacks are almosts the result of an infection.

If the Bactrim didn;t work, this may be a sign that prostatitis was not caused by a bacterial infection, it won;t do shit if your prostatitis is not caused by an infection.

I'm not surprised saw palmetto didn't help, part of the problem about buying herbal remedies is the fact that you can't rely on the product to contain the specified ingredients.

I think the bottom line here is that cycling steroids will induce prostatitis amongst those who susceptible to it. Most first-hand anecdotes I've heard suggest to me that the steroid-induced prostatitis is self-limiting.

I hope all you guys with prostastitis are aware of what to do to minimize its symptoms. Alcohol and caffeine are the worst exacerbators, you need to eliminate them entirely from your diet. Some people say that spicy food is also a problem altho I have never experienced this. Drink adequate amounts of water throughout the day (do not stop drinking water after 7 pm even if your doc suggests this). Do not 'hold in' your water, void when you feel the need. 'Double-void', that is, take a piss, stand there for about a minute, then piss again.

Practice muscle relaxation -- learn to relax the muscles around your bladder and anus which tend to clench up when prostatitis attacks. the clenching exacerbates the symptoms.

I take 10 mg of terasozin ed (available by prescription only) and I notice that it really helps. This is an alpha blocker which acts as a muscle relaxant on the muscles that sit around the neck of your bladder. These muscles spasm during attacks of prostatitis and relaxing them does a wonderful job of reducing the symptoms.

Hang in there guys, I had a life-long problem with an enlarged prostate, it was so bad I wasn't able to sit thru a movie wihtout running to the can at least twice. Now with the terasozin and my prostate hygiene program I barely notice the symptoms unless I have more than a glass or two of wine with dinner.

Another thing, I've been drinking ALOT of alcohol lately...Almost daily. I'm sure this hasn't helped my situation.

I had this for years was put on Hytren to help me void but that caused me to lose my hair. I had a ream job and was voiding good for about one year then the problem came back. I had 6 to 7 bladder infections a year. I would go to my Dr. to have my T levels checked and do a urine test to be sure I did not have an infection again that is bad. After 16 yrs. of this I read a link about high E2 Estradiol in men. I can't give you a link to it here but this is just as good.
http://www.smart-drugs.com/ias-estrogen.htm
I had my E2 tested and started on Arimidex .5mgs everyday and in less then 3 weeks my voiding was at least 50% better. I also had very bad ED and could not reach an orgasm for that 16 yrs. After 4 weeks on the arimidex I woke up with morning wood this is the first wood I have had in that amount of time. I started having sex with my wife and this was a year ago that all my problems were gone. I have had low T for over 21 yrs. I now taking Cialis 20 mgs. every 72 as per my Dr. and I can have sex anytime no wating. I void like a race horse now. After all this time it was high E2. I am now 61 have your E2 checked and if it is high try Indolplex/DIM it to me works better then arimidex. The Arimidex is to strong and I have gone to low 3 times it is just as bad as being to high.

GL, re the alcohol ... go on the wagon till you've got your prostatitis under control, alcohol is murder on the prostate. I found that I was able to re-introduce alcohol into my diet -- in moderation!!! -- once I was symptom-free. Caffeine has an even worse effect -- including the stuff in pop like Coca cola.

I never cycled when my prostrate was kicking up and think this is sound advice for anyone. One thing at a time.

BTW, no one has mentioned PSA tests in this thread. These aren't very reliable but I would get one if you 're prone to prostatitis, just to be on the safe side.

Sounds to me like you got hit by a double-whammy -- chronic prostate infections, which are really hard to get rid of -- plus estrogenic enlargement at the same time.

By the way, Hytrin is terasozin, I have never heard of hair loss associated with it's use. I'm sure there are no reports of hair loss in the literature.

To learn more about prostaitits, a good website is www.chronicprostatitis.com, there is a forum on the page what is useful.

I've been on the indoplix for a few days now, and my symptoms are getting a little better. Maybe 25 percent. How long does it usually take to start working??? Also, I'm not sure if its the indoplix working, or if its the usual waxing and waning of symptoms. I'm hoping its the indoplix, and I"m thinking it is. I will most definatly keep everybody up to date. Thanks.

Another good site is http://www.prostatitis.org

A lot of people start Hytrin and stop because it doesn't work for them. Others stop because they can't tolerate the side effects - lethargy, sleepiness, low blood pressure, ED, dry mouth, etc. You're also not supposed to use drugs like viagra and cialis when you are taking Hytrin.

I should've mentioned, I'm only 21 years old. Isn't that a little young to be expeirencing this?

You would definitely be a little young for symptoms from enlarged prostate -- what is called benign prostatic hypertrophty. You're not too young to have prostatitis. I first had acute bacterial prostatitis when I was about 21 or 22 yo.

I was starting to get morning wood after taking it for 3 days. But I switched from Arimidex to Indolplex/DIM to keep my E2 down. I was very happy to see this happen. And when I stayed on the Indolplex/DIM I lost my morning wood and my blood test showed I went to low so I stopped using it until my wood came beck then went back on it but took half.

Can progesterone have anything to do with this? I've done one cycle of tren enanthate, and that was around the time I think this may have started also.
