I also have been suffering with Prostatitis severley for the last 6 months. I have also been off for the same amount of time as well. Of course that's when the problem started...right at the end of my cycle. My quality of life sucks: depression, low sex drive, pain in the whole area and difficulty keeping a hard on.
My doc has given me levaquin and Bactrim (I think that was the name) with no reief. I started taking Saw Palmetto with nil results.
I'M GOING CRAZY!!!!
What is this Indoplix stuff....I'd be interested to know more about it.
Also, does Prostatitis mean NO MORE CYCLES???
I can't imagine not being able to juice any more but don't wanna make the prostatitis worse by juicing....HELP!!!
There are two forms of prostatitis syndromes -- acute (short-term) and chronic (long-term). Acute attacks are almosts the result of an infection.
If the Bactrim didn;t work, this may be a sign that prostatitis was not caused by a bacterial infection, it won;t do shit if your prostatitis is not caused by an infection.
I'm not surprised saw palmetto didn't help, part of the problem about buying herbal remedies is the fact that you can't rely on the product to contain the specified ingredients.
I think the bottom line here is that cycling steroids will induce prostatitis amongst those who susceptible to it. Most first-hand anecdotes I've heard suggest to me that the steroid-induced prostatitis is self-limiting.
I hope all you guys with prostastitis are aware of what to do to minimize its symptoms. Alcohol and caffeine are the worst exacerbators, you need to eliminate them entirely from your diet. Some people say that spicy food is also a problem altho I have never experienced this. Drink adequate amounts of water throughout the day (do not stop drinking water after 7 pm even if your doc suggests this). Do not 'hold in' your water, void when you feel the need. 'Double-void', that is, take a piss, stand there for about a minute, then piss again.
Practice muscle relaxation -- learn to relax the muscles around your bladder and anus which tend to clench up when prostatitis attacks. the clenching exacerbates the symptoms.
I take 10 mg of terasozin ed (available by prescription only) and I notice that it really helps. This is an alpha blocker which acts as a muscle relaxant on the muscles that sit around the neck of your bladder. These muscles spasm during attacks of prostatitis and relaxing them does a wonderful job of reducing the symptoms.
Hang in there guys, I had a life-long problem with an enlarged prostate, it was so bad I wasn't able to sit thru a movie wihtout running to the can at least twice. Now with the terasozin and my prostate hygiene program I barely notice the symptoms unless I have more than a glass or two of wine with dinner.
