I am seeing doctor today…

I was going ask to be put on telmisartan… is there any downsides? that would be something this could cause…

When i want to bulk my BP gets high,

So now its at 135-140/90.

This is in AM upon waking with cialis .5 mg.

During the day it gets to 150/90.

Any suggestions on if this is appropiate? I got my bp down alot by not using caffeine and things..

But i am going to use them next cycle, so i figured i might as well be prepared…

Also the second i take any other compounds besides test, my bp sits 145/90.

SO FAR, telmisartan is like the miracle drug for steroid users. Lowers BP and has been shown to stop LVH. In one study they believe it even helped the heart to recover and reverse some of the growth from LVH.

20mg a day does the job for me. I'm on test/eq/deca right now and going strong.

Just a FYI don't expect cialis to help BP. It might knock it down a couple points but that is not a valid drug to rely on for lowering BP.

This doesn't mean that 10 years from now all the telmisartan patients won't die of cancer. But as of today, in 2023, it's a badass drug with almost no downsides at all.

Current guidelines calls for bp of 130/80. You’re within reason to request a bp medication. Keep in mind a single bp med doesn’t lower bp by a lot. Maybe a few points. Multimodality is something you will want to keep in mind if you notice an upward trend.

Also request for a 2D echocardiogram. Your Gp may be hesitant but tell him you want to ensure there’s no structural damage from previous untreated hypertension.

Only thing I would say is watch for the BP rebound when you come off if you get up to a higher dose. I basically just told my gp "High Bp runs in my family dads on telmisartan and responds well, uncles on telmisartan with hydrochlorothiazide it works for him". We all like our GH here so you could also ask for a rx diuretic for water retention even if you dont get any from telmi. Hyperkalemia is a risk if you have renal issues. Other than that no reason not to use it, your bp dictates you should do something at this point.

I take 40mg of Telmisartan and 2.5mg of Nebivolol on cycle and it keeps me right where I want to be. I could drop the Nebivolol off cycle but I like where it puts my resting heart rate.

I take 40mg Telmisartan and 7.5mg Nebivolol. My heart rate is a little higher than I like, but I don't want to take more Nebivolol yet. Even with the medication, my heart rate has always been high. I have ZERO negative side effects and feel great. I think both of these medications are very gentle. It's like taking nothing at all.

I would ask for both. Telmisartan on its own is too weak for most people. You will need Nebivolol also.

Yeah im in the same boat. My doctor wanted me to monitor my blood pressure over the last 2 weeks and I just sent it in.

So it was 130/90 which is good, as i was able to get it down alot, as it was 150/90 my last blast the whole time, as now i am high crusing….i added a bunch of cardio and things, seemed to have helped alot. As i weigh 10 lbs less with weight…when it was 150/90.

That said i also cut out caffeine for 5 days…

Inspired is correct. Telmisartan is a great drug but a weak contestant to lower BP at 150/90. You will see almost no result on cycle. Nebivalol will have a greater impact, but will drop your overall energy output a bit. Start very low and work up.

My experience with telmisartan was it wasn't very effective in controlling blood pressure; there's a variety of better options. Of course, upping cardio is a the best idea. Your Cialis could be bumped to 15-20 to improve systemic blood flow with no negative impact. The biggest thing is make sure you have a sound blood pressure monitor. Every time I go to the doc, their readings are 10-20 points lower, up and down, than what I get from my home device. The piece of trash.

Been on bp meds 7 years. Hereditary and I'm almost 50. Telmisaran doesn't lower it much at 80mg but telmisartan amlodipine 80/10 does. I choose this for hematocrit control but losartan lowers my bp to normal but doesn't lower hematocrit. I'm comfortable changing my bp meds myself after watching the Dr do it several times. He simply changes your meds and runs labs after 4 weeks. Asks about sides ect. Mines 130/85 on meds 150/90 off meds. I can get readings at 120/80 by relaxing or on losartan. I'm liking the telmisartan amlodipine 80/10 but if it goes up I have losartan on hand if I need to change it. Take you bp meds at night. You won't be as tired in the morning.

I forgot to mention if you want any semblance of accuracy buy two BP devices that are both medically approved with the standard 3% error range. I bought a decent unit off Amazon for like 40 bucks and then I bough a really nice $200 one. Then I brought them both into the doctors office to benchmark them from the standard 3k machine they use. Turns out the $40 one is right on the money and my fancy one is 20 points higher. If you buy one off Amazon don’t buy a Withings Smart BP cuff! All the data tracking Withings can do is moot because the unit can’t read me for shit.

I was taking lisinopril a ace inhibitor most commonly prescribed bp med I think, and I was having some crazy bad reactions scared the shit out of me. careful with this 1.

I switched to losartan a arb really low dose much better for me.

I think most bp meds protect ur kidneys, for sure by lowering pressure in them , possibly by some other mechanics as well.

From muy point of view you could choose other natural options like astragalus, cystone,...to lower blood pressure before using telmisartan (and its side effects). Its important to choose steroids with less effects in blood pressure than the trembolone,...

If I run Telmisartan for 3+ months, I develop rather specific and persistent mucusy diarrhea, which subsides after I discontinue the drug. Started digging on what is going on. Apparently, this is not common, but reported side effect for many ARBs (I only have been running Telmisartan so can't say anything about other drugs), as ARBs are thought to disrupt intestinal mucosa, which is not good long term. Certainly something to be aware of.
