A straw has one hole. Say you dig a hole straight through the earth; you have a point of entry on either end, but still, it's just one hole.
 
Wouldn't it depend on how it's manufactured? Is it a solid piece first that is then bored through from one end to the other?

If you have to bore it, you are creating a hole.

Not sure..i went on youtube to see how they were made and in the process found the most depressing video on straw making.
 
During early stage development the "body" is a series of different tissue layers, then the anus develops and functions and much later the mouth. So the mouth and anus are two separate holes.
