Does Kaepernick boycott today?

I don't like him so I'm sure it has a role. I don't want to sound racist as I'm sure it could read that way. I'm just trying to make the point where the NFL shouldn't allow itself to be a platform for this and how the whole free speech thing only works one sided in regards to this.
I feel African Americans have every right to say what they feel as should everyone, but there's a time and a place for everything
Brother without all the great African American athletes in your country there wouldn't be an NFL ;) The NFL doesn't own the players personal rights or their beliefs. And for the record I despise the niners and as a player don't like Kappernick lol This doesn't matter because I support him in this situation.

Kinda

Yeah I get that and good for anyone who can make the NFL. I just can't support him.
And let me reiterate it's not that I'm against the cause, just the platform.

Spurs’ Gregg Popovich said he respects the athletes who are protesting the national anthem

Here's an interview with Greg Popovich on the subject (Yes, Im biased. He's my favorite coach on my favorite team).

One of the parts that I liked:

“I absolutely understand why they’re doing what they’re doing, and I respect their courage for what they’ve done. The question is whether it will do any good or not because it seems that change really seems to happen through political pressure, no matter how you look at it. Whether it’s Dr. [Martin Luther] King getting large groups together and boycotting buses, or what’s happened in Carolina with the NBA and other organizations pulling events to make it known what’s going on. But I think the important thing that Kaepernick and others have done is to keep it in the conversation. When’s the last time you heard the name Michael Brown? With our 24/7 news, things seem to drift. We’re all trying to just exist and survive."

That's the big part is with the 24 hour news cycle everything is here today, gone tomorrow. Lebron and Co stood up and said something, but it was quickly forgotten. As have many other prominent figures in various venues. But their words and the incidents they spoke about get pushed out of the new so quickly. What Kaepernick has done is at least keeping it at the forefront for the time being.

So when Magic Johnson used the NBA as a platform to spread awarness about Aids. Was that wrong ?

A respect your opinion but stop being close minded and see the bigger picture dude! ;)
I respect your opinion as well, and I do believe in equal rights. Maybe i just think different than some but exercising free speech doesn't mean your right out wrong and it doesn't matter if people think your right or wrong that's just free speech. But when these guys are on the field the represent their team and the NFL not just themselves.
So like stated in previous post where do you draw the line? If a white guy said he was going to sit during the national anthem because he hates blacks I sure hope to god the NFL wouldn't let that happen...

The wife and I flew up for a M's game early this season. We were walking to the souvenir stand when the anthem came on we stopped and paid the respect we felt appropriate. A couple guys walked by us during and made some shitty comment out of the side of their neck about the respect paid.
I felt a certain kinda way about those guys the same kinda way I feel about kap. I was irritated by it but I didn't go check them either because it's their right.

Exercising your rights is fine people can exercise those same rights in disagreement.

If he would of sat down during the national anthem, yes. And I would hope the NBA would do a better job than the NFL
But I thought you just said it's about the platform Kappernick is using? Magic used the NBA as a platform lol
You also state your for equal rights correct ? OK so hypothetically if Trump gets elected President and strips gay & lesbian rights to marriage. Should they stand for the flag? Seeing as they will not be supported by their own country!

It's not even worth it. He can't even keep track of his own argument let alone jump into new topics.

He's said that white nfl players CANNOT use the nfl as a platform for a message yet when asked for an example of when the nfl punished them for doing so he admitted terr were none. It's hard to fight empty logic.

Well we're getting a lot deeper. For one I don't think it's the government job to dictate marriage rights. Trump himself can't change marriage rights alone. Our system works by "representation" so I guess people should vote people who will get shit done the way they want. But yes I think gays should still stand if their "marriage rights" were to be taken. I wouldn't disrespect my country Judy because I don't agree with everything that happens.
Maybe I should of been more precise. If kap would of said something in an interview after the game I would me more understanding, still don't completely agree. The way he is going about it using the NFL as a platform is what I don't like.

Dude youre a moron. I chose to ignore the stupid argument you were trying to make. I never once said white people couldn't use the NFL as a platform I said they wouldn't be allowed to use it for a racial agenda

By the way doc my argument hasn't changed just your perception of it

Great so exercising one's inalienable right is disrespecting his country. Next you're going to tell us that exceeding your right to own a gun to protect yourself from a tyrannical government is also disrespecting the country lol

Again man I respect your opinion but my question on gay rights was bait to which you took and gave your view. I'm seeing a pattern of bigotry here tbh. Good day....
