Every board I administrate has rules against dom discussion. Many board owners don't want to facilitate the discussion because of the potential for conspiracy charges. I imagine Millard may have some input on this as well.
Anyway my point is I think its best not to discuss domestic raw transactions, sending locations, transit times, etc. Therefore its discussion should be censored for the safety of the board.
Sorry if my intent is not being communicated well. Not sure how else to say it.
I understand what heavy is saying. Speaking from a board owners perspective, Sources that advertise on their boards will do post disclaimers that say to check the laws of the country you live in before ordering from a source even if the source is shipping from a country where gear is legal.
They will delete posts when and if a member implies that any source on their board is said to ship domestically in the open. They will admonish the member and post that all the sources on the board are international sources even though all the members know they are not.
The section of the forum that openly lists and where the sources have lists posted and threads running will be titled something like "International Classifieds" when there are, in fact, domestic sources there.
These are things that a lawyer would have an owner do to insulate himself from any legal repercussions that could befall them if LE went after a source from the board and these disclaimers weren't there. I guess even though it's a lie, from a legal standpoint it gives owners and their attorneys something to work with. This is especially true if a precedent has been set where these flimsy disclaimers kept some owners safe after being targeted by LE.
You're really missing the point. What heavyiron is saying is 100% correct. You should take some advice instead of acting like a know it all. A lot of these new members are wreckless with this shit. Talk about it in the open and give the pigs a reason to set you up. It wouldn't be that hard/ I guarantee I can have your real info on lee than an hour. Im talking name, address, date of birth, and family members. Don't talk about powder. It's for your safety! Use PM!
To be fair, d-red is a former board owner. To call him "controversial" would be an understatement and a compliment relative to what some respected vets call him. He's been accused of some shady shit.
To say d-red is not a very smart guy that knows his way around would tell me that you don't go back very far and don't know how long he's been around and how well known he is.
Of course d-red knows what heavy is talking about. He's having some fun and instigating a bit. I haven't had any personal dealings with d-red and I wasn't a member of his board. I do know some good men that have and don't like him and talk shit or what they believe to be truth about him and the way he does business as far as how he ran his board, the manner and to whom he sold his board to and the circumstances behind the timing of many memers pm's being hacked and money being stolen from them. Circumstantial evidence for the most part, but some claim otherwise.
D-red isn't welcome at one of the boards I frequent. All this doesn't mean that some, myself included, don't have a healthy respect for the mans experience and knowledge of how things work, because I and many do. He knows much more than I do and I think I'm pretty well informed.
Let's say that if d-red was a sleeping dog I'd be wise to let him be. I wouldn't poke him with a stick but I wouldn't try and pet him or befriend him, either.
You know...when you're walking down the sidewalk and you see a person coming towards you and you have the urge to cross to the other side of the street for one reason or the other? I have a respect for him in that sense.
The man is connected and has resources and many many friends/allies or whatever you wanna call them.
cbh, I've come to enjoy your presence and respect your candor. I like you, To challenge d-red and say you could have his personal info in an hour and so forth is something that simply isn't true. I say this not to try and make you look bad, but do so as a way to inform members that this guy isn't some dope typing silly shit to play and kill time. These boards and the behind the scenes shit and connects and sources have been a huge part of this mans life. You can't know what this man knows by hanging around the boards for a few years He played a part in making things they way they are. Influential and very bright with experience in spades.
Fair assessment, d-red? I mean considering the source? I'm a big mouth that has his share of enemies around the boards and that some would say is controversial. I'm aware that it would be fair to compare you and I to a AA ball player(me) and a big leagur in MLB(you).
As far as the way the 2 ball players are held in regard, though, I may be a lowly double A player and considered a hot head at times, but the commissioner and reporters would consider me a team player that has the best interest of the game in mind and am outspoken when it comes to being a part of the players union and looking out for all the players in the league.
You could be compared, by some important folks like the commissioner, to Shoeless Joe Jackson. A major player that is believed to be looking out for himself first and believes the rules that are accepted as such don't necessarily apply to him. Not an insult. Just having my say and giving folks that want to pick a fight to know that you welcome confrontation and can more than hold your own in a donnybrook.
So if you wanna mess with d-red....don't bring a knife to a gunfight.
