Sens, I cant stand liberals like Kennedy, Kerry and the such. From what you have stated about your own beliefs, I find you to be much more centrist/moderate than most democrats.
I do agree that politics is all about who can throw the most mud. Right now the problem is that the entire focus is on the Dem candidates, so all the news is heavily slanted towards their views. Not that the mudslinging will get any better in a few more months, but at least then both sides are represented.
BTW, did anyone else see this illegal gay marriage day in San Fran? Totally against CA law, yet a judge decided not to block it. Thats the kind of judges we need out of power. Instead of following the law, they make their own.
I don't care if gay's want to be together, that is their choice; however, I believe marriage to be a sacred union between and man and a woman, not two dicks.
BTW, Kennedy is the biggest assclown in the world. He forms his opinions on not having opinions, which when you boil it down, makes him a tool. However(and bear with me here), I believe that politicians should be pawns of the general populous, therefore representing a true representative democracy. Sadly, Kennedy just dances on the strings of the powerful lobbiests(sp?).
I think the Bush supporters love how convicted he is on certain issues, which in and of itself is fine. But sometimes I think he is too proud to admit that he could be wrong. I would respect the hell out of him if he said something to the effect of: "unilaterally(virtually in manpower at least) attacking Iraq was probably a mistake, while we ousted a horrible dictator and have the intent to instill democracy, our mode and method were flawed. We were not prepared for postwar Iraq, and I will make every effort to correct that." I would poo my pants and vote for him in a heartbeat. I see hubris as one of the most dangerous flaws in a leader, and I think humility is arguably the best quality. Issues aside, that is what I want to see represented by the leader of the most powerful nation in the world.
I probably am more centrist in my opinions. However, as in this thread, people really are gay bashing. Do I think being gay is wrong? Absolutely! But it is really none of my business what they do with their lives. As my parents always told me "seperate the sin from the sinner sensational(different name)." I have done some bad things in my life, and really, God looks at it all the same. So why shouldn't I? Granted that is a hard task, but it is one we as a society should strive for.
How many gay individuals have you met that haven't had trauma in their life? It seems like they have a cycle of abuse in their lives. If society would help break that cycle (society being a collection of individuals and not tax dollars lol) who knows where we would be. Time to stop talking now, because I just said some pretty fruity hippy stuff and will probably get flamed lol~Sensational
