Downloading Music

i use kazza lite. As long as i keep my shared folder relatively clean I should be fine, correct? I just move the songs out of my shared folder and into a music folder. Is that what I should be doing?

Doesnt matter with lite. No one can see in your folder anyway. Try looking into someones folder with lite and youll see what I mean.

Hey FTW you are correct in thinking that spybot will take care of most of it although if you read the fine print "may modify system settings" which really means your systems registry to create a process which will start up everytime you boot up and try to access the internet in order to deliver what ever info they are gathering. Lots of third party software (read freeware) developers will hide this in the code as a means of raising funds (selling your info) to offset developement costs. There is much more to be said about this and thankfully the editors pointed this out. Always read the fine print when downloading any software that will allow your pc to act as server. Vegas

Maybe you should determine why it would not open before loading more software. Did you get an error when trying to open Limewire?? Vegas

Yes,i got that 1628 error,that i got the 1st time. I'm not saying it's not good,i have no damn patience,that's the problem. I now have a problem with my media player sound. I can't enable sound on my comp. i think i need a driver but i can't find one. O and i found that spyware with Spybot Search & Destroy.

In XP click on start, click on My Computer, Click on view system information,Click on hardware, Click on device manager,Click on Sound,video and game controllers. You should see your soundcard info listed there.

OK i finally got Java downloaded and limewire downloaded,but spybot found some spyware..... eZula HotText: Typelib .... Is this bad,because Spybot won't erase it,it can't erase it,so it's saying

under OTHER DEVICES the Multimedia audio controller does not have a driver installed for it. It also has a little yellow ! over the little yellow ? .....Does this mean a conflict? I'll be back,i gotta go get milk at the store.

I like Kazaa Lite K++ I dont share cause i'm a dick like that and dont want to get popped! No spyware and it changes your participation level to the max or some shit...its pretty sweet! Not sure if its the some ones that some of you bros mentioned or not but i like it...I LIKE IT AAAALOOOOOOT!

Vegas,i have the free version of VGA virus scan and the spyware software you told me about.. Lavasoft yeah that's it All i need now is a good FREE firewall or do i need it. Is it really nessesary,if so,which one do you recommend? thanks again

Ok Manwhore if you have broadband/dsl you should have firewall software. Have you seen Bob Smiths signature line with a quote from Phreezer?? Here is a link for the free version of ZoneAlarm. I strongly suggest you upgrade to the pro version when you can. Also if you are running cable/dsl a Linksys hard wired router is also another great addition to your security stack.
