I rearranged a few things and cleared the area in front of the television to open up the basement a little and create a small 2-person area suitable for yoga, core work, stretching, and meditation.

These are all things I tend to ignore but are pretty important for both my physical and mental wellbeing, as the healthiest and happiest I've ever been did incorporate all of the above into my routine.

Gym includes:

Power rack with adjustable cables & various handles, pull up bar, dip attachment;
Landmine and cable row;
2x York 2001 Universals, one set up for push downs, curls, cable rows and shrugs, the other set up for machine bench, lat pulldown, pec deck, decline sit-up board, leg curls and leg extensions;
Adjustable dumbbell set 10-90lbs in 5 lb increments;
Heavy bag;
Spin bike;
TRX suspension cables;
Northen lights adjustable bench + 3 flat York Benches;
Kettlebell, 1" & 2" plates, various curl/tricep bars.

The York weight stacks goes up to 140lbs but thats easily increased by adding plates to the handle bars.

The power rack stack goes up to 220lbs and also has pegs to add plates for additional weight.

What would you add to this setup?

You have a very chic and magnificent hall. How much money did this hall cost and how long did it take to build it?

Thanks... I put this all together for about $3500 USD. The powerrack was purchased new, The spin bike was a Christmas gift, and everything else was purchased used on classified websites and Facebook Marketplace between January and April of this year.

Nice home setup. Only thing I don’t see that I would definitely add is a quality adjustable bench. Looks like most everything else is covered.

Thanks. The first pic has an adjustable bench in the forefront, it's a bit worn but it's pretty solid. What would you prefer to see in place of that? Been a long time since I've been in a commercial gym

Oh I missed that. I saw some dude on Reddit have these beefy straps hanging inside his power rack. I even want to say the straps were Hammer Strength brand.

But they looked to be very easily and precisely adjustable and they actually work as a spotter for lifting solo. Maybe you’ve seen them before but it kinda blew my mind and I thought I must have something just like it if I ever do a home gym. I’ll try to find a picture of it.

I've seen that too the straps are cool. I do have rods to use as guards for bench press and squats, thankfully I've only had to bail on the bench a couple times. It is nice to have them is it's always been a mind fuck to push hard on bench when I'm alone

I would have an absolute shit workout in that home gym. You just spent about 10 years worth of gym membership fees for a half assed gym. What else to add? For starters more rubber mats so you don’t crack your floor boards.

Hack squat
A chest supported machine row like hammer strength
Machine chest press
Heavy dumbbells
Smith machine
Machine chest press is there on the York and I've never been much of a fan of the Smith machine, but I really like the idea of a hack squat, that's a great thought. Heavy dumbbells are on my wishist for Santa!

I hadn't even considered the chest supported row machine, I think that's a fantastic idea as well

Looks good to me. Just need to print out and attach your wifes face to the punching bag, yknow, for those times shes really dishing the bullshit.

According to a recent study i just made up your 886.7% less likely to murder your wife if you do this.

An excellent price for such a hall, I repeat, it turned out very cool. I'm also thinking of starting to make a hall at home.

Such belts are very convenient when you train alone without a safety net. If they are correctly built along the length, you can squat large weights without fear that it will crush.

I can live in your gym. I could sleep on bench or floor.

I like airline (assault bikes) for cardio and a belt squat machine

Also I would build a platform out of plywood and horse stall mats that extends into the rack with a nice poly finish over the top sheet of ply, for deads and squats

Safety squat bar as well...

How do you like the safety squat bar? I've never had a chance to use one even when I drop into commercial gyms from time to time, I've never seen one.

The platform is another great idea

It's amazing, good mornings, Hatfield squats and calf raises can all be done with this bar, imo it's should be a part of every home gym

The platform can be made cheap, low grade contractor ply for the first 2 layers then the third piece can be done with 1 side good ply and horse stall mats can be found cheap ad well even off cuts would work cuz you don't need much 2'x2' pieces

For me, it is night and day. It takes pressure off the lower back and relieves the excruciating pain in my shoulder I have when trying to do squats with a normal bar. It is like torment in my shoulder that makes it hard to concentrate on working my legs. This is not an issue with a safety squat bar.
