DaVinci2 said:Are these the same? When I ask the doc to measure my estrogen levels and I get Estradiol levels...does that mean my estrogen?
The_Skeptic said:The way I understand it, Estradiol is E2, which is one of many estrogens, but the one we need to worry about the most because it is the one that rises when T rises, and causes us all those problems.
snipe said:Interestingly until using I3C ( or currently DIM) my Total E's were high (180), yet my Estradiol, Estrone and Estriol were all mid to low normal.
rockin813 said:How has the DIM been working for you? Prior to any TRT my E2 was 17, Estriol 25, yet my Total Es was 143 (ref <130)...not that high but higher than the range given. Told that Total Es isn't that big a deal and Estradiol is the key player, but I'm curious if my Total Es is keeping my T levels down in the 390s.
Just curious. Thanks.
snipe said:My Total E's were 125 this past Feb. (Ref. <130) I'm still taking the same 120mgs DIM and am due to have some labs done fairly soon. I'll post the #'s.
rockin813 said:so with your Total Es dropping from 180 to 125 do you feel any different? Issues before taking DIM subdue at all? How long did it take to drop down to 125?
Thanks
snipe said:Actually I3C had my #"s down to 100. After being on DIM for a couple of months they were up to 125. My Doc felt I3C created 4-OH estrogen compounds while DIM did not. Therefore the switch.
Overall I felt no different regardless of estrogen levels. My reason for using anti-e's has always been based on lab #'s.
Raising my testosterone from 259 to 1100 (currently mid 800's) on the other hand made a big difference.
rockin813 said:thanks. so getting my total Es down to below range won't do anything for me as well? probably the case.
im gonna be tyring HCG alone to get my 390 T levels up to 800 levels or so 5 weeks from now. Previous TRT got me into the high 1200s yielding zero benefits...as my E2 grew to 76!
thanks again!

TylerR said:Hi Snipe,
Were you using other forms of anti estrogens?
So I3C alone was able to lower your total estrogens?
Also how long were on I3C for before you noticed the drop?
Did you notice any improvements from the drop in total estrogens?
My total estrogens are high, and I am looking for something less potent then arimidex, if possible.
Thanks!
snipe said:I've been using the low dose of Arimidex throughout but, Adex alone never seemed to have much effect on my total E's.
I3C alone (on for about 2 months) was able to lower my total E's but, when I tried discontinuing the Arimidex my estrone rose.
No difference with the lower total E's.
