Estradiol level

I finally got a Doctor to measure my estradiol level. My level was 56. He said this is high and refuses to write me a script for an aromatase inhibitor. He said it won't affect my health. Does that sound like bullshit or am I mistaken? By the way, I'm on 5 mg of Androgel a day and my total testosterone is 580. Anybody have any input? SWALE?

If swole gets a chance to answer this, I would also like to know what his opinion is on the suppression of FSH by high levels of estradiol (and its affect on spermatogenesis).

What's your bf%?

About 16-17%. I know, its high, but still he should prescribe me arimidex.

You're not going to be able to convince him to change his mind, so just buy it.....it's cheap enough for it not to be much of a concern. Your bf% is likely contributing to the elevated estrogen levels too.

My bodyfat is contributing to the high estradiol. But, the doctor is being a prick. I'm going to another doctor. As far as I know, Arimidex is quite expensive. Enlighten me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

You can get arimidex from online "research" companies at 1mg/mL 50mL for $40-50 no problem. You'll only want to take .25mg/day if that.

Thats actually not a bad price. Thanks einstein.

IMPO, an estrogen level that high (assuming refererence value to be <50) is not good, and increases the risk of other illnesses. I keep my guys as close to mid-range as I can.

Sorry to semi-hijack, but have you noticed any trend in estradiol levels in the upper 1/3 of ref range showing a corresponding increase in IGF-1 levels or a substantial elevation in HDL? I'm assuming that if you have, you don't see it to be advantageous enough to keep people in that range, since you say you like to keep them about midway.

My protocols would prevent any such observation, since I usually first tune my guys up properly on testosterone before adding in the GH therapy. That means their E has been controlled, too.

Although many HRT docs report a trend toward increased HDL levels, what I observe is actually the reverse. Perhaps this is because I do control E, I do not know. I should add that E should not be driven too low, either. When a doctor does poush it down too far, it either means he/she doesn't really know what they are doing, or are just trying to make a bunch of money by selling all the drugs they can.

The decreased HDL is of no consequence to me, as it has been shown to be the result of REVERSE cholesterol transport secondary to proper TRT administration, and CHOL, LDL and TRIG levels improve. This is not the case when docs use Winstrol, for instance, as part of "TRT", or some such nonsense.
