Extremely Bloated on TRT

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone else's been bloated while on TRT and how they resolved the situation. I'm currently on 100mg of T-Depo and 0.5 mg of arimidex on the day of the shot and .05 mg 3 days later.

According to my last test my E2 was mid range, while my total E's were high?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you!
Max

State precisely your T and Arimidex dose.
Give your SHBG and DHT levels.
There is many more estrogens than just E2.

Do Estroessence test, post #44 link below.

Post all your tests, name, value, units, range, laboratory name, what tested, blood, urine.

Read my thread, from top to bottom.

Hi JansZ,

Thank you for your reply.

My TRT Dosage is 100mg shots once per week and 1/2 a tablet of Arimidex on Monday and Thursday.

My SHBG levels from blood are low: 19 range 10-70

I'll provide the rest as a urine test:
E2 is 4 range 0-7
Total Estrogens 23 range 4-22
Estrone 11 range: 3-11
DHT 176 range: 21 0-13

Other Results also from urine:
DHEA 4586 range 5-1476 (I would have no idea how to lower DHEA, it maybe caused by my TRT)
Testosterone 176 range 45-85
Cortisol 177 range: 35-168

Thanks!

When I first started on TRT my hands and feet swelled up from water. My Dr. gave me a water pill I have taken for yrs. I take it 2x's a week.

Hi Phil,

I wonder if my case is from total estrogens going too high, my total estrogens via blood were already at 240 with a range 40-110, prior to TRT.

When I'm on TRT, my metabolism slows way down as well, I don't get hungry all day, and get extremely bloated even with small meals. It feels so uncomfortable.

When I first started on TRT my hands and feet swelled up from water. My Dr. gave me a water pill I have taken for yrs. I take it 2x's a week.

Sound's like hypothyroidism, i have the same thing happen to me. Get your adrenals and thyroid checked to be sure though.

For your SHBG=19 you should be at 135mg/week testosterone, unless you are already adjusted via proper testing.
Use Liquidex instead Arimidex, much easier to adjust dose.
You really do not know nothing about your Estradiol E2.
Your bloating may be due to high E2 or something else.
Get
Estradiol Ultrasensitive
or better yet get at Quest:
Estradiol, Free, LC/MS/MS (36169X)

If you have a health problem, there is no way to get help without testing.
So either arrange for testing or give up and do something else, pray.
Do not waste money on urine or saliva testing, unless you do very specific tests.

Check my post #44 for all kind of testing.

Megazoid,

Every test I had so far doesn't show anything wrong with my thyroid, but in Canada no one seems to be aware of T3 and T4, I did eventually get that checked but not sure how accurate those tests are.

I have a feeling I may have adrenal issues, from my insanely dry mouth. I also believe total estrogens are playing a role in the bloating.

When your on thyroid and adrenal meds, does the bloating stop when you're on TRT?

Thanks!

JansZ,

Thanks, I'll need to speak to my doctor about these options. You guys in the US are so lucky to be able to get all those tests. Although health care is free in Canada, it feels like they're testing procedures and labs are behind what you guys have in the US.

Thanks!

If your Estradiol test is to high this can make you hold water there are a lot of days I would take a little more Arimidex and be going to the bath room all dam day. Later I could feel the water went down. You need to understand there is no test to men on Total E's. This is just the labs changing the range to make more money. Testing and trying to get this down is a waste. A test for women's E's taken from a man is not telling you anything we are not built like women.

Also thyroid can make you hold water and low adrenals do you crave salt. If you do try adding a 1/2 a tsp of a good Sea Salt to your water first thing in the morning this can help your dump water.

masterpp, did you get the issue resolved and what did you do to get it resolved.

Thanks!

Hi Phil,

Which type of therometer do you use? They each recommend different types.

I read both the article and the way he explains measuring by temperture seems like the best way to see if the thyroid and adrenals are optimal cause these correlations have a direct effect on body temps.

Thanks

This is a good way to tell if your thyroid is bad and if your adrenals are over worked. Take your Temps and chart them read this link.
http://www.drrind.com/tempgraph.asp#directions
First take your basel temp.
Thyroid Self-Testing by Basal Temperature (originated by Dr. Broda Barnes)

I'm not sure what it is at the moment, my E2 is mid range according to the urine test.

I'm not entirely sure if my thyroid and adrenals are functioning optimally, will need to try the temperature measurements you recommended. I don't have a craving for salt.

There's so much that needs to be corrected.

Thanks!

I got this off the net.
Thermometer
I think you can get the same on at Wall Greens

max,

no i didnt-

i actually came off trt cos i was gaining so much weight and loosing hair-

im still not great, but im better off trt- in fact though, on trt my e2 actually went down, so for me it wasnt exactly e2 issues interestingly enough

i found that when i was hyperthyroid cos i overdosed on t3 my bloating went away- the main thing i find that helps is not combining food

ie have just protein one meal, or just carbs one meal etc- i find its the combination of food types which screw me up

Thanks Phil, I have that therometer, will check once my temps once I get over this cold. Do you leave it in your mouth under your tongue for 3 minutes then check?

Masterpp,

Do you plan on going back on TRT?

I will need to do the temperature test as Phil recommended to see if my thyroid and adrenals are off.

It's so tough dealing with health problems.

Thanks for your reply!

i found trt too strong- i just didnt feel myself- i was either too high or too low, and never got the dossing right. even when i did, the side effects were bad, but more than anything i just didnt feel myself.

full replacement was just too hardcore for me- im feeling a lot better though dealing with adrenals and thyroid- although this will be replacement, for some reason it feels less 'hardcore'

will i go back on trt- yes, eventually, but not for the time being- perhaps in 5 years or so when there are more treatment options

in the meantime im dealing with adrenals and thyroid, and managing e2- im also investigating oxandrolone, as it reduces shbg, increases lean muscle mass and sheds fat- ill let you know how it goes, but again, oxandrolone isnt ideal as one has to be very careful with the liver and cholesterol values.

Ten min.'s if doing a Basel before getting out of bed under your arm. Five min's for under my tongue 3 times a day after I am up 3 hrs.
